My 5 year high school reunion is going to end in a massacre. (Finale)

Part one
Part two
Part three
Alright, this is my final update. By now, the reunion is over. The fact that I'm writing this kind of gives away that much, and it also gives away the results. If that’s all you needed to get from this, feel free to click out now. But if you want to see how it went, and get all the same answers I did, keep reading.
So last time, I was holed up in the cafeteria. I had accumulated a decent arsenal of weapons, and was temporarily safe. I decided to take the suspenders off and wrap them around my waist, giving me more room to hold weapons. I readjusted everything, sliding the paper cutter into the new belt, rebar slung over the back, knife tucked into the other side of the belt, extinguisher in my hands. I needed to be on the lookout for a new one, as using it for the foam really lessened the weight.
By the time I was ready to move out, 9 o’clock had rolled around. Sure enough, the intercom crackled to life, and the smooth voice of the MC rolled over.
“Well, what an update we have here! Lucas, Lucas, Lucas. I have to say, my employer thought you would be a weak link, but clearly you proved all of us wrong. I’m very impressed, and I’m sure he is too. As for the rest of you, I’m quite disappointed. Far more of you are just sitting on your asses, twiddling your thumbs and hiding, while those of you like Dahlia and Lucas do all the work.”
“The body count for the last hour is 28, an impressive jump from the hour previous. Lucas took out 3, wounding a fourth badly enough that Dahlia finished him off to put him out of his misery. Really Lucas? Stabbing a man in the penis? Part of me is impressed by your willingness to do anything to survive, the other part of me feels secondhand dick sympathy for the poor bastard. Anyway, Dahlia killed 3, including the mercy kill. Her gang, not counting her numbers, killed 9. Not bad. Some other notable ones include Rachel Geller taking out Monica Bing with a dumbbell. But Rachel got killed by Lucas after, so it’s not that impressive, all things considered.”
“Faith Calisto has apparently taken refuge in the catwalks above the stage in the auditorium, and has taken to dropping weights and lights onto anyone who ventures onto the stage, so be careful about that everyone, she’s already killed 5 people, and I don’t condone camping as a legitimate strategy.”
“The other 8 kills are largely unremarkable, except for Ty Green taking out 2 men with nothing but a football helmet. That takes some skills, so good job there Ty.”
“Now, for the news. Even with the increased number of deaths, 32 of you remain. Now, I did say at the beginning that whoever is the last man standing would be the winner, but some of you think that meant to sit in a bathroom stall for three hours. South wing ladies room, looking at you. Well, to circumvent those of you who aren’t playing as intended, the rules have changed. The person with the highest kill count at the end of this hour is the winner. Anyone left alive at the end of the hour will be tracked down and dealt with by my men, and they aren’t friendly. The current leaderboard is Lucas, with 5 kills. Faith is tied, with 5. Then Dahlia, with 4. Macy Evans, 3. Graydon Pierce, 3. Kyle Kimball, 2. Ty Green, 2. Patty Whitfield, 1. Jose Villareal, 1. And finally, Hannah Dubois, 1. Yes, that doesn’t add up to the total number of dead. I chose to exclude killers who are already dead, because what’s the point of including them? They aren’t going to win, that’s for sure. Well, I’ve been chatting long enough. I’ll be seeing one of you in an hour, and my employer will be with me. Good luck everyone. May the fiercest predator win.”
And with that, he went silent. Jesus, I thought Macbeth was long-winded. At least the bastard didn’t give away where I was this time. That being said, I think I have more questions than answers at this point. Who’s this employer? Who are all the people he named with kills? Where is everyone else? And most importantly, where’s Dahlia?
I’m still not sure if I wanted to know where she was so I could kill her or avoid her. But it didn’t matter at that moment, because other people had stumbled into the cafeteria.
They weren’t in the kitchen, just the dining area. But that was close enough that I knew how this was going to end. I could hear them talking to each other about needing to watch for other people, about how they would both get out of this somehow. I wish I could hold their optimism, but I already knew that only the strongest person would get out of this. And I also knew that neither of these bastards were stronger than me.
Their voices moved towards the kitchen door, and I hid behind one of the ovens on the other side. The things were huge, they had to be, to feed a few hundred kids at a time. The pair entered, still talking. I couldn’t tell if they were just too stupid to keep quiet, or if they didn’t care. Regardless, both of them were both small, smaller than me. Guy and a girl, each of them short and skinny. Each armed with half of a broken broomstick. Easy prey.
As they approached the ovens, I slowly pulled the rebar out of it’s makeshift sheath. When the voices were within 10 feet, I jumped up and hurled the spear. It caught the woman between her breasts, and a red stain blossomed on her silver dress. The man screamed and tried to turn to run, but tripped over the corner of a second oven. I was on him in a second, knife in hand, ready to make my total seven. But the bastard swung his broomstick and caught me across the gut with a shallow slash. I held back a scream, compromised with a pained grunt, and slashed the man’s wrist. He dropped the weapon and screamed.
For making me work, I decided I wasn’t going to make things easy for him. I grabbed him by his shirt collar and hoisted him up to his feet. He couldn’t have been more than 5’4” and maybe 115 pounds. I threw open the oven door with one hand, and he realized what I was going to do. He tried to bat me away, but I dropped the knife and slammed his head into the side of the oven. Once he was dazed, I grabbed him and threw him inside. He tried to stick his foot out to block the door, but I drew my paper cutter and hacked halfway through his ankle. He screamed again and pulled his foot in, and I slammed the door shut. He kept screaming, but I couldn’t be bothered to listen. I locked the door with the safety latch and cranked the temperature knob.
The oven roared to life, and the screams got louder. I was too busy recollecting my equipment to hear much, and I finished off the girl with a second stab from the spear. Seven is a respectable number, I think. Not enough though. Dahlia was going to be working her total too.
I turned off the lights as I left the kitchen. If anyone else thinks about going in there, maybe the smell of burning people would be enough to deter them.
I turned down the hallway towards the theater, but decided against going in. Faith was always gifted with theater tech, and we worked together on pretty much every show back then. If she wanted to fuck with people, she’d know how. Better to let her get flushed out by the MC’s men and take her down once she’s out of her element.
The hall split off here. Left to the metal shop and woodshop, right to the south wing. I remembered MC saying something about the restrooms here being occupied, so I decided to go that way.
As soon as I turned the corner, I saw a man in a slick emerald green suit, holding a sports trophy that dripped with blood, standing over a woman’s twitching body. He lifted the trophy over his head, but I dropped the fork I had taken along with me, and he turned to look before he struck her. When he turned, I recognized him as Jose. He was a star pitcher back in the day, although I guess he turned into more of a batter tonight. I approached him and he tried to swing the trophy at me, but I easily sidestepped him and smacked him in the head with the extinguisher. He fell to a knee, and I set the extinguisher down and pulled out the knife. As he looked up at me, I brought the knife down into his left eye. He screamed, just like everyone else, but as I twisted the knife he fell silent. I withdrew the blade, and he fell. I turned to the woman, and luckily for me, she was still breathing. I pulled her down the hallway to the ladies room with one hand, carrying the extinguisher with the other, and used it to knock on the door.
“Please just go away.”
Oh, that wasn’t going to happen. I threw the door open and saw a tall, skinny woman standing there. Noel, I think? I smiled and waved at her, and pulled the woman from the hall partway through the door. I opened it wider, and slammed it on her head. This went on for some time. The woman never made a sound, but the same could not be said for Noel.
Once the woman’s head resembled an overripe tomato thrown at a shitty comic, I entered the room. Noel didn’t have any way to defend herself, apparently. By now, the weapons made things too easy for me. It was far more satisfying to do things barehanded.
That’s why I grabbed Noel’s flowy blonde hair, and slammed her head against the sink. The screaming stopped around slam 6, she fell to he knees around swing 9. I dragged her into a stall and left her facedown in a toilet after that. Using the weapons I’d accumulated didn’t give me the same rush that I was getting otherwise. And to think that I didn’t want to kill before all this started. Shit, this felt better than the good acid trips from my junior year at university.
Up to nine now. Double digits was sure to be a good feeling too. I left the girl’s bathroom and went into the men’s, but it looked like someone had beat me there. There was a person in there, but the lack of blood in them, and the excess of it on the floor and walls, suggested he wouldn’t be my tenth. Tragic.
Leaving the bathroom, I caught a fleeting glimpse of someone turning the next corner. They looked to be heading to the east wing, which was a hall or two away from the gym. I still wanted to track down Dahlia.
As I followed around the corner, I saw Macy, the girl with a drill from earlier. She looked to be still alive, but was standing, unmoving, in the middle of a pile of corpses. At least 4, but some were torn up badly enough it was hard to tell. One looked to be the guy with the sawblade pipe, which made me think maybe Macy turned on Dahlia and her gang, but Dahlia’s body was nowhere to be seen.
I approached hesitant at first, but Macy seemed completely disassociated from everything around her. Made it easier for me to take her down, at least. A kick to the back of the knee, kick to the back of the head, and a few stomps. Fitting, number 10 was one of Dahlia’s lackeys.
I grabbed the saw pipe off the ground, leaving the extinguisher behind. It had served me well, but it was the least effective thing I had at this point. I peeked into a nearby classroom, and was greeted with a faceful of liquid. Smelled like bleach, burned like hell in my eyes. Whoever was in there, they were smart. Somewhat at least, because while I was blinded, they charged me without much thought. Unfortunately for them, I was in the middle of a swing with the saw pipe when they came at me, and it tore through their throat without much trouble. Honestly, they might’ve gotten me if they had waited a second or two more.
I stumbled into the classroom and washed my eyes out with some water from the sink in the back of the class. Bleary eyed, I turned around to a thankfully empty room. Shame I didn’t get to send 11 off with a bit more flair, but oh well. They were smarter than most, so good on them.
I went back to the hall and kept moving down the hall. I looked up to a clock in the corner to see 8:50 displayed. Looks like I wouldn’t have much time to add to my tally. Luckily, I also saw a small figure running towards me in the reflection of the clock. I turned to see none other than Faith, previously my biggest competitor. She held a small prybar, and as she swung at my neck, I ducked and charged her, nailing her with my shoulder and driving her back into the lockers.
She dropped the prybar, and I went to grab her hair like I did 9, but apparently she decided the shaved look went well on her. So, plan B. I dropped the pipe saw and grabbed her ears, one with each hand, and spun her in a circle, ending with her head on the ground. I grabbed her prybar and started swinging. I lost track of how many times I hit her, I stopped counting when the numbers started getting big.
An even dozen. Not bad. I stood up and looked down at the mess I made, and try as hard as I can, couldn’t remember her name. Only the number 12. Whatever. Plenty of time to worry about that later. I checked the clock again, 8:53. 7 minutes to go. I turned the corner and saw the gym entrance again. I also saw Dahlia standing over a kneeling man who was begging for his life. She shook her head and kicked him over, and drove the saw into his chest. He barely even had time to scream.
Wish I had been able to get my hands on tools like that. Once she finished up with him, she turned and saw me.
“How many do you have?”
“12.”
She looked back down the hallway. “Shit.”
I turned, but didn’t see anything. I turned again, and she was running at me, battery powered saw whirring. I threw my spear, but she ducked, and it flew over her head, clattering to the floor. Next I threw the saw pipe, but she easily dodged that too. I drew my knife and paper cutter and stood my ground. As she reached me, she swung the saw horizontally, and I backed up enough that it didn’t connect. I swung the paper cutter and missed, but landed a shallow stab with the knife in my other hand. She swore and backed up too, both of us out of range of the other.
“You know, 13, this would play out way cooler if it was all fake and on a set.”
She looked at me quizzically, not quite getting it.
“But this shit’s real life, not fantasy.”
I tossed the knife in the air, caught it by the blade, and chucked it through the air. 13’s eyes widened when she realized what was happening, but she moved too slow to dodge it, and the blade sunk into her stomach. She dropped the saw and fell to her knees. I walked the distance between us and looked down at her. Jeez, I thought the hate in the other lady’s eyes was bad.
“I really hate you, Lucas.”
I grabbed the saw and pushed it about a foot away. I grabbed 13’s hair, and pushed her face down into the spinning blade. She didn’t have time to scream, which was nice, all the screaming was starting to make my head hurt.
As I let go of the bloodied clump of hair, the school bell rang. I heard a door open down the hall, and the MC stepped out, walking briskly towards me, flanked by two men in black tactical gear.
“Well, Lucas, I must say, you certainly surpassed our expectations. A grand total of 13, which was only rivaled by Dahlia’s 11. Quite impressive. My men are hunting down those few that escaped your wrath, and after that, we can get you cleaned up and on your way. I’m sure you have lots of questions, and we can answer some. But for now, follow me please. Oh, and drop whatever other weapons you might be carrying.”
I let the paper cutter fall to the floor and followed the man into the school office. It had been turned into a makeshift command center, and sitting behind a row of computers, was another man. As many of you readers suspected, he was indeed the man who hadn’t left his house in five years. He is not the friend of mine who deleted everything about himself, though. Different people.
“Ah, Lucas. Nice to see someone who wasn’t a total scumbag won.”
I just stared as he stood up and took his place besides the MC and his guards.
“I’m sure you remember the incident at graduation? That so many of our peers found so hilarious? Well, I don’t think they’re laughing now.”
A few gunshots rang out from somewhere in the depths of the school. The man in charge chuckled.
“Pay that no mind. Anyway. The anxiety from that incident left me with a crippling fear of going outside. God forbid I ran into anyone who saw what happened. My parents got sick of me slouching around, and threatened to throw me out. But thankfully, I had been working on some software that enabled leeching off of blockchains. I’m sure you’re aware of how popular cryptocurrency is? Well, the short version is that my software lets you take a few decimals off of each transaction. Not enough to be significant for one or two, but once you infect a large enough number of bitcoin mines? You’re raking in thousands a day. And some less than savory people were willing to give a pretty penny for that software. Enough for me to fund this wonderful little get together tonight.”
He walked directly to me and shook my hand. “But I know you’re better than the people you killed tonight, and as such, you’ll be rewarded. I’ll be giving you my phone number after everything is cleaned up. Shoot me a text, and I’ll be able to provide you with just about whatever you want. And just let me know if you’re wanting to take part in anything like this to satisfy some more… dangerous tastes.”
He laughed and turned to leave the office.
“Oh, and just so you know, I think I’ll be around for a while. Being in charge of stuff is exhilarating. Me and my associate, the one you call the MC, we’ll be around the area for quite some time. And for the record, he calls himself the Dapper Man. He’s quite insistent.”
And with that, he left me in the office, alone with the guards and the Dapper Man.
After that? Not much happened. I didn’t try and kill the people who set this up. Even if I had my weapons, they had automatic rifles. I might be a little unhinged by now, but not stupid. I was able to pay off my student debt, and move into a nice cottage in the woods. Every once in a while, the Dapper Man stops by. He never says anything to me, he just stands outside for a few minutes, then leaves. I’m not sure I’ll ever be rid of him.

How I Got Paid By 65 Different Beermoney Programs in 2018 [Guide]

How I Got Paid By 65 Different Beermoney Programs in 2018

Hi! Welcome to my guide for everything that paid me in 2018. Before I begin, here are a few details:
Now, let’s get into the good stuff.

1. Quickthoughts - $590

This was my top earner for the year and it only took me up until September to earn this amount. I had to stop because they require a W9 for anything over $600 and I was too lazy to file that. It is pretty similar to a traditional survey router, but I seem to have much better luck with not disqualifying here. I get paid $1 per survey but some people earn $2 per survey based on their demographics. Some people have issues with bans and getting locked out of accounts, so it is not for everyone. Because of this, it is important to cash out the minute you hit the cashout minimum of $10. There are both android and iOS apps but I highly recommend using android if possible because the iOS app pays in iTunes gift cards and the android app pays in Amazon gift cards. Overall, Quickthoughts is great if you are one of the lucky ones without account issues.

2. CrowdTap - $270

This is one of my favorite beermoney programs of all time. You complete a variety of very short polls and questions about consumer goods, food products, and services. The polls pay 1.5 cents each and the short answer questions pay 10 cents each. There are other ways that they ask questions, including longer surveys that are a combination between the polls and questions. All of them are well worth it for the time that they take. Reward options include Amazon, Target, Walmart, Steam, Xbox, and more. You can cash out starting at $5 and I am able to cash out about once a week. Definitely add this one to your routine if you have not yet.

3. Prolific Academic - $197.95

This one is great. Take academic surveys for universities and researchers and get paid in cash. As long as you don’t miss attention checks you won’t get disqualified. Some people get multiple surveys a day and others get only a few a week based on demographics. Many pay at least minimum wage. I could have made a lot more on here if I tried. Universally regarded as one of the most “worth it” survey sites so give it a shot!

4. Pinecone Research - $138 + Ranch Dip and Dog Chews

Pinecone pays a guaranteed $3 for 10-15 min surveys regarding opinions on new products. They also send free samples sometimes! You can cash out for a variety of gift cards or PayPal. I get about 1 survey a week on average. Pinecone is invite only so look for invites to sign up on other GPT sites as sometimes you can find them there. If you get in it is some of the best money you can make with surveys for the time you spend on it.

5. Branded Surveys - $130

Branded Surveys has traditional router surveys. A major perk of using Branded used to be their generous daily login bonus. This has been reduced to 5 cents a day, so it might not be worth using this site for the login bonus alone anymore. They have a very high EngageMe rate at one cent per 3 videos if that’s your thing as well! Payouts start at $10 via Paypal and Amazon.

6. Nicequest - $120

Big fan of this one. Their surveys have guaranteed rewards even if you screen out and can pay up to $2-3 for like 10-15 minutes. Their currency is “shells” and each shell converts to about 7 cents. Installing their meter on your devices adds a guaranteed 5 shells per survey. If you add it to your computer, phone, and tablet you get an extra 15 shells (about a dollar) per survey. I just have it on my computer so I get 5 bonus shells. Cashouts are quick for e-gift cards and they also offer physical items. Saving up for larger gift cards typically gives you better rates.

7. PrizeRebel - $107

PrizeRebel is your typical GPT site with a variety of ways to earn, but it is most well-known for surveys. They pay $0.80 per survey on the YourSurvey router and that is where a majority of my earnings have come. Lots of cashout options starting at $2.

8. YouGov - $100

YouGov is a survey site/app that pays anywhere from $0.50 to $2 per survey. The best part of it is that you never disqualify. I get a couple surveys a week. Most of the surveys are about public policy, politics, or general opinions of companies. You get the best value for your points if you save up for the $100 cash out. They offer the $100 cash out in bank transfer and Amazon. The Amazon gift card option used to be a physical mailed card but now its an e-gift card so that makes it even better! They offer other gift cards but they are for smaller values at worse rates so I would avoid them. Available online, on android, and on iOS.

9. iMoney - $89

Get paid to download apps! The best thing about iMoney is that the apps always credit and you can get credit for apps you have downloaded before. That’s not the case on most paid-to-download apps. Earn 15-30 cents per app and there are 3-4 new apps available each day. They offer Amazon and PayPal but PayPal has a small fee. Added this towards the end of the year and hope to make more next year. Might not be in the app store at the moment? Couldn’t find a link to put in the title.

10. VeryDice - $65

Roll dice, get points, redeem for physical items and e-gift cards. I get the daily spin rolls every day and watch their ads for more rolls. The key to VeryDice is saving up approximately 100 rolls before rolling to have enough to get the daily doubles bonus of $0.30. Worth keeping on your phone even if it’s just for the daily spin rolls. Available on both iOS and Andoid. If you want to enter my ref code at sign up you’ll get 30 free rolls :). It is 1319422.

11. Forthright - $62

Sign up and receive invitations to surveys via email. Don’t do their “partner surveys”, they rarely credit and you can get stuck in an endless loop. Their non-partner surveys are awesome. They pay well for the time spent but they also have one of the best disqualification bonusses I have ever seen. Every three surveys you take, regardless of whether you disqualify or not, you get a $2 bonus. That is $0.66 per survey on top of its base pay regardless of whether you qualify or not. They pay instantly with PayPal, Amazon, or Bitcoin.

12. VolKno - $55

Do you like movies? Then this one’s for you. Watch, rate, and tag movie trailers to earn Amazon gift cards. Each trailer has three stages and after completing all three you will make 23.5 cents per trailer. One thing to keep in mind is that you need a physical verification card sent to a US address in order to activate your account. I completed basically every trailer that was posted over the year, so my earnings are a good estimate of what you can plan on earning.

13. Inbox Dollars - $52.03

A pretty shit GPT site with a high minimum cash out. Not sure how I ever hit the minimum cash out here. Would not recommend.

14. Zap Surveys (Ref for $0.75 bonus) - $52.03

There are three main ways to earn here: a 3 cent daily login bonus, 7 cent location rewards for opening the app when a notification appears, and surveys. If you’re going to do surveys on here do relatively short TapResearch ones. The location rewards alone are why I use this app. The one negative of this app is that the cash out minimum is $25. Definitely worth having on your phone!

15. PointClub - $50

This is a pretty normal survey site. They have a daily login streak bonus that can double the value of your surveys when you reach the max streak which can make a lot of them worth your time. I stopped receiving surveys, so I assume I’m banned? So be careful with this one. Cash out minimums are $25 which is higher than I would like.

16. Survey Monkey Rewards - $49.15

Another one of my favorites. Survey Monkey Rewards is a survey app created by Survey Monkey, a big name in survey development software. Surveys all take under 3-4 minutes and pay either 25 or 35 cents based on length. I almost never disqualify, and you can cash out instantly to Amazon starting at $5. Available on Android and iOS.

17. Earn.com - $71.31

Earn.com lets people pay Bitcoin to contact you. I mostly received BTC to sign up for ICOs and airdrops for random tokens. They were aquired by Coinbase so there are changes to the program. They require a LinkedIn to make an account now as well (I think). If you can get into the program still it is pretty great!

18. MyPoints - $45

This is a sister-site to Swagbucks. I have decent success with their surveys so I use it for that. They have some other ways to earn but I don’t use them. If you have the same success with their surveys it might be worth using.

19. MicroWorkers - $44.16

Basically a smaller and sketchier MTurk. Lots of short tasks with decent earning potential but you have to find the right type of tasks for you. I did the click, search tasks for a while. There is PayPal with a $9 minimum but if I remember right they mail you a physical card with a pin before you can cash out to verify your identity. Not for everyone but worth a look.

20. SurveysOnTheGo - $43.30

This one is pretty simple. Get surveys on your phone, and redeem for Amazon, Visa, PayPal, and Starbucks! Surveys range from $0.50-$10. Some are location based and involve in-store activities. The more involved the surveys are, the more they pay. Don’t expect a ton of surveys, but many of them are worth your time. Available on Android and iOS. Minimum cash out is $10.

21. Survey Junkie - $40

This survey site is average at best. I am having less success with them recently because I can’t be bothered to take a 20 minute survey for $0.90. The one benefit of this site is that they have a VERY small disqualification bonus. Some people do have success taking surveys on here and the cash out minimum is $10.

22. E-Poll - $35

Another survey provider with no disqualifications! Woohoo! You receive email notifications when you have a new survey. Surveys pay $0.50-$2 and are usually not too long. They pay via a points system and you get better rates if you save up for the higher rewards. I cash out for Amazon, and they can take a long time to deliver rewards so be patient.

23. MooCash - $33.60

MooCash pays you to download apps and then open them for 3 days once a day. I have gotten paid as much as $2 for a single app download. They don’t always credit super easily so I would only try the better paying ones. You can cash out for BTC, Amazon, PayPal, and more. You can use my ref code (EHNPNC) when you sign up for some free coins. I think it’s only available to the first 20 people.

24. InstaGC - $33

This is a pretty basic and easy to use GPT site. Very low cashout minimums with lots of options. Check out LiveSample and YourSurveys for a good place to start on surveys.

25. PaidViewpoint (Ref) - $32.65

Short surveys with minimum PayPal cashout of $15. There are short surveys to collect demographic information that pay 10 cents. If you qualify for any of the longer surveys they can pay as much as $1.50. Surveys can be sporadic so just check the site once a day. Worth the time it takes to put into it.

26. UserCrowd (UsabilityHub) - $32.40

UsabilityHub, now rebranded to UserCrowd, pays you to give feedback on websites and products. Each task pays anywhere from 10-50 cents and the minimum cash out is $10. UserCrowd is nice because unlike other usability testing sites you don’t need to record your voice or screen. I leave it in a pinned tab on Chrome and get notifications when there is a new task. They can vary in how often you get them. I enjoy this one, give it a shot.

27. OnePulse - $30

This app has very short surveys with guaranteed rewards. You never disqualify or anything like that. I get a notification that I have a new paid survey about once a week. Surveys pay 30 cents to start but as you “level up” they become worth slightly more. Right now mine are worth 34 cents. Cashout is at $5 via PayPal. Available on iOS and Android.

28. Watchback - $30

This is the best sweepstakes app I have used. You get entries into the sweepstakes by watching videos. Each video is an entry. I watch 10 videos a day and usually win either $0.50 or $1 each day. It pays via Perk points so it’s a nice supplement to your Perk routine. If this keeps being so easy to win I should make a lot more with it next year! Available on Android and iOS.

29. Dabbl - $30

I started using Dabbl towards the very end of the year. They offer short brand-sponsored polls and videos that pay anywhere from 5-20 cents. These are super infrequent and cashing out from these alone would take the better part of a year. Where I earn with Dabbl is their non-passive ads. You get paid 1 cent per ad so I run them when I’m doing other things. It adds up. They don’t offer Amazon so I cash out for Target. Cash outs are at $5. iOS and Android.

30. Gravy - $25

This is a pretty fun game show app. To summarize the game, you pick a percentage that you think a product will sell out at, and if you’re within the closest few people to the right percentage you win a decent little chunk of cash. I’ve won once. You can buy discounted products on here as well. Go check it out, it’s pretty addicting. My ref code is “Leeves” if you want to throw some bonus guesses my way :).

31. KinIt - $25

Take short polls and quizzes and get paid 6-25 cents a day. The unfortunate thing about KinIt is that they very rarely have their gift cards in stock. When they have them in stock they have a decent selection. Still worth your time in my opinion. iOS and Android are supported.

32. Life Fun and Everything - $25

This was an invite-only survey panel that gives me a $2 survey once a month. Found it on some GPT site.

33. Panel - $25

Install Panel on your phone and get paid for sharing your location data. They drastically reduced their pay rate recently so I’m not sure it’s worth it anymore. Previously you could expect to make about $25 a year.

34. Perksy (Ref) - $25

Short polls that pay anywhere from $0.50 to $1. I get about one a week. Only downside is that the minimum cash out is $25. Various gift cards (including Amazon) are available. Definitely worth keeping on your phone. I think it’s iOS only at this time.

35. Swagbucks - $25

One of the easiest GPT sites to use. Lots of offer walls and surveys. I don’t make a lot here but basically just do daily search, daily poll, Swago, and SwagIQ. If I wasn’t banned from their surveys for some reason I might make a little more. I use swagbucks from time to time to find easy offers to do. Overall, a decent place to start of you’re experimenting with beermoney for the first time.

36. Survey Mini- $25

This app uses your location data and pays you 10 cents (sometimes more) to fill out a short poll about stores and restaurants that you go to. They recently added e-gift cards instead of physical cards so that makes it a lot more attractive to use! iOS and Android.

37. IBotta - $20

This is one of the better apps that give you rebates on select grocery items as you shop in-store. If you buy a lot of groceries, there is money to be made here. They also have traditional online cashback portals and offers.

38. Streetbees - $19

This app has surveys with a more personal and fun spin. You get paid via PayPal for each task that you finish. There aren’t always tasks available but when there are, they often pay well. I had one for testing an app that paid $9! It’s a nice option for something a little different than traditional surveys.

39. AttaPoll - $15.29

Attapoll is a survey app that sends you more traditional router surveys (many of which are Cint surveys). You might disqualify quite a bit here depending on your demographic so I stick to the short ones. Payouts are via PayPal, Bitcoin, and Ethereum. PayPal starts at $3 (nice), ETH at $3.50, and BTC at an insane $100. On both Android and iOS.

40. Smores - $15

Smores is an Android lock screen app that pays a flat $0.10 a day for unlocking your device once. Their non-passive video section pays a cent per 2 videos at the moment so that can be a decent earner as well. Cash out as low as $1 for Amazon and other gift cards. I was pretty inconsistent in my daily unlocks this year and hope to increase my earnings next year.

41. Crowdology - $10.04

Very straight forward. Do surveys, get paid. Some people have success with this type of site, and others disqualify a lot. I would stick to any surveys under 10 minutes in length to avoid wasting your time. Cash out for Amazon or PayPal at $10.

42. Achievement - $10

This app pays you based on your steps. I have it connected to Apple Health. It took me about 9 months to earn $10 and I am pretty active. Android and iOS are both supported. Doesn’t run in the background or drain my battery from what I can tell so it’s very passive and harmless.

43. Gamermine (Ref code for $1 bonus) - $10

This is a GPT site with a few offer walls. They have good EngageMe rates as well as a 5 cent daily bonus as long as you’re making a dollar a week on offers on the site. This is basically the only truly passive income that I have made this year from running EngageMe.

44. Cross Media Panel - $10

This is a program through Google that paid you to let them have an extension on your browser and on your phone. They discontinued most of this program so I am no longer earning from them. Parts of this program still exist but I haven’t looked into it much. Probably just worth skipping over at this point.

45. Lifetap - $10

This app is just a garbage survey router now. It used to have some other short guaranteed-pay surveys. I wouldn’t mess with this anymore.

46. PayTime - $9.99

Paytime lets you earn money for your subscriptions by watching ads and answering a few questions about them. You can only cash out once a month because it is supposed to be used for monthly subscriptions. All they do is send you $9.99 via PayPal or Venmo once you watch 40 ads. The catch with PayTime is that you need to be a student at one of the universities that they support. Check their website for the list. Overall, if you are a student it could be an easy $10 a month. Hope to use this more next year.

47. Ready Games - $9.19

Get paid to play games! There is a new game every 48 hours and the top 20% of scores at the end of the time period get paid. The top player makes $7 and the payout decreases as you go down the ranks. I have won somewhere around $2.50 every game that I have made it into the top 20%. Pays via PayPal when you win. On Android and iOS. You can use share code “lucky-disk-68” if you want to give me some extra lives :).

48. Carepoynt - $7

This is a pretty bad healthy living/rewards site. I think they had a few easy ways to earn, like downloading their app, and that’s how I cashed out. There was a post about it so be looking for opportunities like these on the subreddit. I won’t be using this again.

49. Amazon Shipping History Task - $6

Look for tasks like this that get posted on the subreddit. Got paid to submit some shipping data from Amazon.

50. DailyWin - $6

This used to be a scratch card app with a non-passive video section but it seems to be dead. Move along, nothing to see here.

51. CitizenMe - $5.97

Take short polls. Get instantly paid small amounts of money via Paypal. Pays in GBP so if your currency is USD you get to take advantage of that increase in value. Polls are spotty but worth it due to the instant payout (so no minimum or anything like that). iOS and Android.

52. PollPass - $5.15

Answer polls and get paid! Pays via PayPal at $5. Very simple and fun to use. Just answer the polls whenever they are available and watch the points add up. Added this at the end of the year so hope to expand on this next year.

53. Brand Insights Polling - $5

I honestly have no clue how I got paid by them. I think I took a survey that I found from a Facebook ad or something?

54. CashForApps - $5

Get paid to download apps! They don’t pay the best and sometimes have a hard time crediting but still might be worth a shot. The very best paying apps pay around 30 cents. Some pay pennies. Available on iOS and Android. You can use my invite code “4848a6” and get a few free points.

55. EarnWallet - $5

This was a from a promotion that was posted on beermoney for just downloading EarnWallet. Check out the sub for opportunities for occasional promotional opportunities like this.

56. Shopkick - $5

Scan items, check into stores, and earn cash back for buying certain items. Not a huge earner but can be fun to mess around with when you’re out shopping. Available on iOS and Android.

57. Louder Rewards - $5

This app paid $5 Amazon to download 5 apps and use them for 3 minutes. It was a one time offer so I don’t use it anymore. It’s on iOS and Android.

58. Qmee - $4.68

Install their extension and get paid a few cents for random searches that you make. They also have surveys. I use PayPal to cash out and there aren’t any minimums that that’s cool!

59. Google Opinion Rewards - $4.68

This app sends you occasional very short surveys from Google that pay 10-20 cents. Using Google services and being mobile seems to increase the number of surveys that you get. Some people get a lot, some get less. Worth just having on your phone. The iOS app pays via PayPal and the Android app just give you Google Play credits.

60. College Pulse - $5

This app has polls for college students to take. I think you need a .edu email address? Their rewards kinda suck so I stopped using it but they had an offer to cashout for $5 bitcoin to the Ben bitcoin wallet so I did that. Maybe worth it depending on what reward options they have at the time. Android and iOS.

61. Fetch Ref Code For $2-$5 Bonus: XE2XG - $3

Scan receipts and get paid. I get 2.5 cents per receipt on average. They also have products that you can get rebates on when you buy (sorta like iBotta). They only accept grocery store receipts. A good addition to your receipt scanning routine.

62. Quick Survey - $1.61

See my section on iMoney. Very similar but with less apps available and larger fees.

63. CoinOut - $1.02

This is one of the most straight forward receipt scanning apps. It pays 1-5 cents a receipt (typically 2 cents). Cash out starts at $1 for Amazon or PayPal which is way lower than most receipt apps. Very nice. Hope to earn more with this next year. Has both Android and iOS apps.

64. Indeed Job Spotter - $1

This app pays you $0.50 per sign to submit help wanted signs that you find around your city. I have never actually submitted a sign but got paid $0.10 per sign to verify the validity of other people’s signs. I’ve seen people make pretty decent money on here.

65. 1Q - $0.25

This one seemed cool at first. Take short polls, get paid $0.25 instantly via PayPal. The problem is that I never get polls anymore. Others have had the same experience. You might be able to squeak a few cents out of it. Android and iOS.

TOTAL: $3014.92

Hope this helps you guys out, and if you have any questions let me know! Let me know what I should add to my routine :). Thanks to everyone who contributes to this subreddit because I found many of these programs thanks to you! Have a great 2019!

The /r/XboxOne Game Of The Year Awards 2017 - RESULTS!

Seasons greetings /XboxOne!
Thankyou once again for an amazing turnout of voters this year! We had a total of 10,103 responses - And upon removing the 6,822 naughty votes from people who thought they could bot the system (tisk tisk) we arrived at the grand total of 3,281 respondents!

A big thanks to all of you who took the time to fill out the survey.

On with the show!! As always - The votes have been counted correctly, altered based on my own personal bias and edited to reflect the juicy bribes I received in bitcoin and anime hug pillows from publishers.
Each winner has been given a prestigious and totally not imaginary /XboxOne exclusive "award", and are celebrated below.
As a heads up - By their very nature, these awards will contain mild spoilers. You have been warned
BEST SHOOTER

Wolfenstein 2: The New Colossus

Blasting Nazis, robot dogs and the KKK with death lasers in a fictional alternate reality 1960s America? Whats not to love here?! The man who starred in the very first FPS game as we know them; B.J Blazkowicz returns and sets the record straight on just how the shooter genre is done.
BEST RPG

Assassins Creed: Origins

Something of a surprise winner this year - The AC series is not known for its RPG flair, but Ubisoft went back to the drawing board with the newest instalment of the franchise and re-imagined AC as a sprawling, open world RPG set in ancient Egypt. Well done Ubisoft. Despite very strong competition from South Park: The Fractured, But Whole, you managed to take the win! Just don't get comfortable in your seats - I have a feeling we will see you back on the award stage very soon...
BEST ACTION/ADVENTURE

Assassins Creed: Origins

And by very soon - I mean right now... Never before have we awarded the Action Adventure AND Role Playing Game trophies to the same game - But then again, never before has a game managed to fuse open-world action, platforming and adventure quite so well into a deep RPG system. Truly a new benchmark for the open world genre, AC:O smashed its second-place rival, Shadow of War by over a thousand votes and adds another feather in its hat.
BEST NARRATIVE

Wolfenstein 2: The New Colussus

4 awards given out and only 2 games mentioned. Despite very healthy competition in this award from many games, Wolfenstein 2 managed to narrowly outpace its nearest rival, Prey and take the win. Violent, ridiculous and funny - But also poignant, emotional and surprisingly human. Wolfenstein 2 takes one of the most ridiculous storeys ever told in gaming and makes it feel real.
BEST FREE TO PLAY GAME

Fortnite: Battle Royale

This was not even a question in the minds of you guys. Epic's somewhat ahem familiar take on the battle royale genre utterly decimated the competition this year. Just goes to show that when your original game idea is tanking, there are much worse things you can do than rebuild your game into cartoony PUBG meets Minecraft. Nice one Epic.
BEST SINGLE PLAYER CAMPAIGN

Assassins Creed: Origins

This was a close one! Going head to head with Wolfenstein 2 yet again, the sandy expanses of the assassins creed world were just enough to push it into the winning position, by less than 30 votes!
The trials and tribulations of Bayek of Siwa were enough to win award number 3 for Ubisoft this year.
BEST MULTIPLAYER

Playerunknown's Battlegrounds

Get ready to drop. Not surprisingly, PUBG wins best multiplayer this year. The Xbox is known as the "shooters console" and PUBG is currently the most popular shooter in the entire world - With a staggering 10%+ of all PC gamers on steam having played it (Making it the 6th most popular PC game in the world). It only makes sense that Xbox gamers would catch PUBG mania as well. Congratulations Bluehole!
BEST SPORTS GAME

FIFA 18

Oh hey, it's that genre that FIFA wins every year! Football is the worlds most popular sport, so it would only make sense that it would be the most popular sports video game as well. In fact, the only gaming franchise that sells more on console than FIFA is COD.
Well done EA. Next year we will ship your award early to save time.
BEST DRIVING/RACING GAME

Forza Motorsport 7

Oh hey, it's that genre that Forza wins every year! Seriously though, Forza is the undisputed king of racing games. No other racing game series on any other platform comes close to the quality and frequency of releases that the Forza team manage every year. This year was no exception, with FM7 being used as the poster boy for the Xbox One X 4K, 60FPS HDR miracle. Turn 10 utterly obliterated the competition this year by over THREE THOUSAND votes. Possibly the widest margin of victory we have ever seen. Rekt.
BEST PLATFORMER

Cuphead

Let's be real for a second - As a pure platformer, Cuphead is average at best. But in its own genre of "Artistic tour de force bullet hell cross boss rush cross platformer cross dark souls with incredible music" - It has no equal. The blue hedgehog made a come back this year with the incredible Sonic Mania, which did VERY well in votes, but it wasn't even close to knocking the crown off of the cup's head. Well done Studio MDHR.
BEST HORROR GAME

Resident Evil 7

Resident Evil is the king of the survival horror genre. After years and years of poorly performing sequels, the team went back to the drawing board and re-designed just what it is that makes a Resident Evil game. Despite changing everything from the setting, to the story, to even the player perspective - RE7 Still somehow managed to feel like Resident Evil. On top of that, it was one of the best horror games released this year. Prey and The Evil Within 2 managed to actually tie for second place, but they must both bow before the king. A true return to form from Capcom.
BEST SOUNDTRACK

Cuphead

Possibly by virtue of being one of the most original soundtracks in gaming, Cuphead stunned everyone with its old-timey Big Band and Barbershop soundtrack. Noticeable competition came from Prey, which was composed by Mick Gordon (Who won last year's best soundtrack award for DOOM) and Destiny 2 - But they weren't enough to overcome the originality and awesomeness that was Cuphead's soundtrack.
Also worth noting that this song is actually sung by a woman. The incredibly talented Alana Bridgewater.
BEST "GAME PREVIEW PROGRAM" (EARLY ACCESS) GAME

Playerunknown's Battlegrounds

Award number two for the innovative new franchise. Despite its technical and performance issues on release, the game is still fun enough for the VAST majority of you to overlook. They earned this particular chicken dinner by over 2 thousand votes. Tasty.
BEST SOUND DESIGN

Star Wars Battlefront 2

Despite the controversy surrounding the Battlefront series - There is one thing that nobody of sound mind can ever fault the series, and indeed DICE studios themselves for. Sound Design. The pew pew of the blasters, the whroom of the light sabres and the skreeeeeuummmmm of tie fighters all coming through JUST right.
Oh, and who could forget the almighty thermal impolder...
BEST GRAPHICS

Assassins Creed: Origins

This game is simply stunning. In 4K HDR on the Xbox One X - There is arguably no better-looking game in existence right now. Incredible texture detail, stunning vistas, built up cities, sweeping sand dunes, a draw distance that stretches to infinity and historical accuracy so legit that you can play the game with an Egyptology book on hand and actually compare visual notes and translate the real hieroglyphics. AC:O is one hell of a pretty game. Battlefront 2 put up a good fight, but it was no match for that Ubisoft magic.
THE "SHOULD HAVE BEEN DELAYED" AWARD

Mass Effect: Andromeda

Mass Effect: Andromeda was, in what is retrospectively the height of irony, delayed more than once by EA who claimed "We’re willing to make moves in launch dates if we feel that it’s necessary to deliver the right player experience" after their first 5-month delay. It seems that wasn't quite enough.
Bad characters, Bad Plot, Bad Glitches - The ME Series hit an all-time low with this instalment. Causing such a stir as to have EA gut the entire development team and then to declare that the Mass Effect franchise is to be shelved indefinitely.
Ouch...
BEST FREE GAME WITH GOLD

Ryse: Son of Rome

We live in a post Pool Nation FX world. Gaming has peaked. Since then we shamble about aimlessly, lost and alone. We make do with what we are given. Ryse: Son of Rome was a launch game for the Xbox One, that Meme'd on this subreddit only second to PNFX. With weekly threads asking for it to be a GWG, Numerous rumours and hoaxes - The madmen finally did it and gave it to us.
So that's it. We defeated Microsoft and have no games left to meme... Soldiers without a war. Is there truly a place left for us in this world?
Oh, and the game is alright I guess.
MOST BANG-ABLE CHARACTER

The "Retry" button - Cuphead

Easily one of the most smashed menu options in recent memory. This filthy harlot was always there, ready for you to fail. You hated yourself for going back to its arms - But it was always there when you needed it. In the back of your mind, you knew this was an abusive relationship, but nobody truly knows you like the Retry button. Every time you press it, you swear to yourself that was the last time. That is until the next time...
Also as always, my mother was a strong contender in the "Other" category, as well as MajorNelson and the Puddle Slime from Slime Rancher.
PS - My... uhh... friend says thanks for those fursona pictures.
MOST HATED CHARACTER

EA - Everything

Electronic Arts have been voted worst company in America. Twice.
Our very own mod falconbox summed up everyone's reaction to EA this year with some High-Quality Gifs meme magic.
THE "BUYERS REMORSE" AWARD

Destiny 2

This was a polarising choice. Seemingly Bungie managed to accomplish the impossible by irritating both the hardcore Destiny 1 fanbase AND the casual audience with a cavalcade of "downgrades", controversies and poor press. From being caught stripping down content to be re-sold as microtransactions through to skimming EXP from players - Destiny 2 has not been a smooth ride. Not even Starwars Battlefront 2 came close to the level of regret felt by long-time Bungie fans.... Again...
BEST CONSOLE EXCLUSIVE

Cuphead

What is left for me to say here? Cuphead is one of the most original, well executed and highly decorated games of the year. A stunning achievement for indie developers Studio MDHR - They even got props from the prime minister of Canada himself! Congratulations again guys. You crafted a fun and unique game that took the old school and somehow made it new school. A game that no Xbox One owner should be without, Cuphead is a triumph in every sense of the word.
OVERALL BEST GAME OF THE YEAR 2017

Assassins Creed: Origins

Another Close one! With Cuphead and Wolfenstein 2 hot on its heels, it was once again Assassins Creed: Origins that managed to edge ahead of the crowd by a MEASLY 82 votes to pick up its 6th award this year - Making it the most highly decorated game in /XboxOne history.
Here is what the results looked like: https://i.imgur.com/rnzBiXH.jpg
There seems to be no question at all on your minds as to what the essential game of 2017 is for every Xbox One owner. That game is Assassins Creed: Origins.
Ubisoft took a year off in order to make the best new AC game they could and it is obvious that that little extra layer of TLC was exactly what the series needed. If you are a fan of action games, platformers, stealth, hack and slash combat, open world exploration, RPG mechanics, loot, crafting or even just a history buff - You owe it to yourself to play this game. Particularly in 4K HDR on the Xbox One X. Congratulations Ubisoft on your first ever big win on the sub!
A big thanks to everyone who voted once again! Looking forward to 2018's wild ride! Love - The mod team.

I got a DEXA scan today. I've gone from a sub 30 Minute 10km to 33% body fat. I am officially MORBIDLY OBESE. Time to change, day 1 lets go baby!

Okay I'm gonna start off at the DEXA scan part since this is /loseit and the DEXA scan part is probably going to appeal to most people here more than sappy life story.
http://imgur.com/a/m7YxN
So you can see I'm a 110kg 21 year old male who (I think?) comes in the morbidly obese range. On the box graph it has me at the end of normal obese but other numbers have put me at morbid....does it really matter? I'm enormous :P Fyi the reason there is a big X in the middle of the graph is because the lady (10/10 just saying) taking me through my results hated BMI charts with a passion (I mean I get it with muscle mass bone density w/e but I digress).
There were only cool results I got (info included on other parts of the 10 page document:
1: It turns out I have a bone density 4.5 standard deviations above the average :O I guess thats cool...
2: I have a skeletal muscle kg/cm2 30% greater than the average guy my age, which feels pretty amazing been going to the gym the last 4 and a half months and just hit a PB of 130kg Bench press (1 rep)! Obviously I've been eating like 10000 calories a day...33% body fat doesn't just happen
TL;DR: TITLE
SOOO
The sap story and the reason I got the way I am :( We're going WAYYY back so hang on tight
So, like many kids I was a very active full of life child who played a whole bunch of sports (mainly field hockey). I ALWAYS gave things my all. Anyways the second last year of primary school comes around and I'm SUPER EXCITED to run the cross country (which is only open to the 2 top years (6/7) of the school). The day arrives and not only do I beat both the year 6's and 7's, I beat the year 7 record of the at the time current AFL (Australian Rules Football) player by 4 seconds. This lit a FIRE under my belly and I decided I wanted to run the first sub 2 hour marathon (ay pre-teens what you gonna do). The next year I beat the record by 30 seconds. I entered highscool, studied decently (ended up getting a 97 ATAR for any Aussies out there :P), but everyone in the school always knew me as the one they'd get to watch in the olympics in 2016 and win it in 2020. When I was 16 I met Ms perfect, the best girl runner in our school and we become the running power couple.
My life was pure running. I ran before school, I ran after school, I ran during school lunchtimes. AND I DIDNT GET TEASED FOR IT There used to be a group that would sit under the shade of the huge eucalyptus and yell out the times every time I lapped (godbless the runsquad). I ran my 29:40 10km in early 2013, to this day the best day of my life getting giddy (and sad :/) thinking about it now, we all had such a fucking amazing night and I had my first drink ever (hadn't drunk before as it could effect my running according to my research :P)
27/6/2014 the beginning of the end. Going for one of my classic midnight runs. The thrill of the midnight adrenaline and the only slightly lit surroundings while having a nice smooth path which I'd run 10,000 times before was the perfect run for me. I was running 300m 21.1 Km/h intervals exactly ($500 garmin watch), which happens to be 2 hour marathon pace ;) Anyways as I was running I felt my legs start falling, this sensation was VERY NEW to ME. Some eternity later I come to my senses I come to senses and both my knee caps are split to the bone and I cannot move them. Luckily there were houses nearby so I was able to yell out and they took me to the hospital after realizing what was going on (it was 12am to be fair).
Multiple xrays blah blah later, 2 flesh wounds no biggie. 2 torn Meniscus. Biggie. Tried Rehab, got back to walking, got operations, tons of rehab got to stupid slow painful jogging, tons of rehab. Eventually got back to being able to slow jogging with a bit of pain but it was never anywhere close to the same so around July the next year (13 months later) (my birthday is in august) gave up running and lost a decent amount of drive in life and was in a seriously bad spot. So It was coming up to my joint 4 year anniversary (girlfriend) with Mrs Dream Girl and also my birthday (3 days apart) I organised an awesome scavenger hunt for us both going to all of our first dates (I was pretty awesome at dates back in the day, 1st date was jetboat riding :D) . So then for the party I had it at my apartment, the usual drinks and stuff, except I got FUCKING PLASTERED. Thought if theres any time to experience getting drunk its probably on your birthday after giving your up your lifes dream since you were a child.
So anyway I passed out after throwing up buckets (having had less drinks than fingers on my hands before tonight) and my 1 of my 3 best friends looked after me in my room. The other 2 of my best friends were having great fun dancing with my girlfriend (which is awesome we were literally the fantastic 4, always hanging out). Anyways one of the friends started dancing reallllly close and a little bit handsy with my girl and she wasn't exactly pulling away, the other friend noticed this but didn't really want to start something on a birthday so didn't say anything. Anyways party goes on and he notices they are leaving together... (Girlfriend lives with me, the 3 other friends live together) So like the champ he is he waits a few mins and then follows behind and catches them in the act.
Anyway call me traditional but I don't believe a relationship (well for me anyway) can ever come back from cheating. Broke up with her the next day. So over the next year I slowly started to hate life, to binge Mcdonalds 3 times a day "Large Triple Patty McChicken Burger Meal with Chocolate thickshake as the drink" and I got diagnosed with Major depressive disorder, epilepsy (no fucking idea if this is related, some say med side effects some say diet some say genetic some say fucking jesus) and IED.
Cut to the start of this year I made a new years resolution! To kill myself within the week. I'd already dealt a great deal of self harm over the year + since the injury+cheating incident but I said its finally time to do the deed.
I chose my method. Falling to death, splattering on the pavement from the tallest building in my city. I'm not exactly the most considerate person in the world but I still went at 2am so I wasn't going to hit anyone. I wrote a simple note to my now 2 best mates and my Dad and that they were to split up my assets (lucked out big time with bitcoin $$$) and that I appreciated everything they had done for me in life and to know that my last week was the best in a year (it was quite awesome, felt relaxing "knowing" it was going to be all over).
Anyway I took the elevator up to the 3rd highest floor (top 2 had no way to get to outside) and stood outside by the edge. Couldn't do it. Bitched out. Ay theres worse things to bitch out I guess?
Anyways after that decided if I'm too much a bitch to kill myself I might as well try to enjoy myself. I have money to kill so my first step (oh god hear comes the judgement) was to buy every skin and chroma on league of legends on not only my main but my smurf as well....not my proudest moment... Next step was to get some gym clothes/fancy nikes and a great gym membership. I stepped on the scales for the first time... 115kg. I started going to the gym every day and doing my variation of 5x5.
And here we are! I estimate I've probably put on some muscle and lost a decent amount of fat to get to 110kg but I want to get down to 95kg while doing the same again (increase muscle significantly). I still like the idea of eating a significant amount of food so keeping a high amount of weight through muscle, and not a crazy low body fat % (thinking 20%) I think would be ideal for me. That said I will definitely be going until my visceral fat decreases. And hell I might get a bug for this weight loss feeling ;P
If you got to here you're a fucking superstar, I know I rambled I just don't like to talk about this shit in public and I've been reading this sub for the last week and you guys seem like the friendliest cunts around <3 Can't wait to become part of the winners :D

THE CFB BOWL SCHEDULE IS RELEASED - Here is a fun state-by-state road trip guide for all of the bowl games!

Let me preface this post out with the fact that I am not in fact, financially able to do this, but it's fun to dream.
There are 7 states in America that host more than 1 CFB Bowl game. I thought, how cool would it be to do all the bowl games in one state, and it got me dreaming and scheming about how hard that would be. So I wrote up this little guide for the 2015 CFB Bowl Game Road Trip. You pick the state, I wrote ya a little guide about it. Hope this is as fun to read as it was to dream up!
ALABAMA - 3 games, over 11 days and 351 miles of travel
From here you would have 14 days in Alabama till the next bowl, which is roughly 100 miles away, or 1 hour and 30 min drive. Good luck with the 14 days in Alabama thing
From here you'd have one day to make the ~260 mile journey, which should take around 4 hours.
ARIZONA - 2 games, over 3 days and 27 miles of travel
  • GAME 1: Vizio Fiesta Bowl - December 31, 2014 - University of Phoenix Stadium - Glendale, AZ
    • Boise State 20 (Mountain West) vs Arizona 10
Expect to see a lot of Arizona fans at this one, seeing how it's about a foot away from their campus. Should be a fun game against two ranked opponents! Boise State (11-2) will be coming into enemy territory away from their blue fields, to the desert.
From here you'd have to wait 2 days till the next game, which only a 30 minute drive away!
  • GAME 2: TicketCity Cactus Bowl - January 2, 2015 - Sun Devil Stadium - Tempe, AZ
    • Washington (PAC 12) vs Oklahoma State (BIG 12)
The Washington Huskies (8-5) are coming off a big win against their instate rivals and head to the TicketCity Cactus bowl in the PAC 12's own Arizona State Sun Devil Stadium, a place they're familiar with this season with a loss. Can they redeem themselves in Tempe against the OK State Cowboys (6-6).
CALIFORNIA - 4 games, over 10 days and 812 miles of travel
  • GAME 1: Poinsettia Bowl - December 23, 2014 - Qualcomm Stadium - San Diego, CA
    • San Diego State (Mountain West) vs. Navy (Independent)
Beautiful San Diego will be overran with in state SDSU Aztec fans, but I imagine there will be many Navy fans also due to the large Naval presence in the area! Looks to be a very fun atmosphere, between the Midshipmen (6-5) and the Aztecs (7-5)
From here you'd have 4 days to hang around, because your next bowl game would be in San Diego again (such bad luck /s).
  • GAME 2: Holiday Bowl - December 27, 2014 - Qualcomm Stadium - San Diego, CA
    • Nebraska (B1G) vs. USC (PAC 12)
Once again, beautiful San Diego. This time, expect many USC Trojan (8-4) fans at this one. The Nebraska Cornhuskers (9-3) will be out to avenge their fired coach Pelini. But will he be coaching? Will Riley be coaching? Will @FauxPelini have hilarious tweets about it?! we'll wait and see.
From here you'll head off to Santa Clara, about a 7 hour drive, over 500 miles. You'd have 3 days to head up there and settle in for the next game!
  • GAME 3: Foster Farms Bowl - December 30, 2014 - Levi's Stadium - Santa Clara, CA
    • Maryland (ACC) (B1G) vs. Stanford (PAC 12)
A pair of 7 and 5 teams meet in Santa Clara, California. Expect a bunch of Stanford folk at the game, should be a fun experience in the new Levi Stadium!
From here you'd have two days to drive 5 hours back down south to Pasadena.
  • GAME 4: Rose Bowl - January 1, 2015 - Rose Bowl Stadium - Pasadena, CA
    • FSU 3 (ACC) vs Oregon 2 (PAC 12)
Obviously the big-daddy of the California games, this is going to be a big game whichever way it goes. Will Marcus Mariota be able to fall the mighty Seminoles? Or will the streak continue, and FSU win again in Pasadena?
FLORIDA - 8 games, over 12 days. Although it's only really plausible to see 7 games, over 12 days. Option A is 1,100 miles. Option B is 998 miles.
This is where the idea of this all happened, I live in Florida and go to college in Orlando, so I thought, "how cool would it be to go to all the bowl games in Florida?!".
  • GAME 1: Miami Beach Bowl - December 22, 2014 - Marlins Park - Miami, FL
    • BYU (Independent) vs. Memphis (AAC)
Boy, oh boy. Football in a baseball stadium. Not just any baseball stadium, but the new Marlins Park. Some people love the stadium, some people hate it, but even less people have actually been. The Marlins aren't good at filling the stadium, so lets see if a very good Memphis team (9-3), and an equally good BYU team (8-4) can do better. Should be a good game, in an interesting setting.
From here you would have to travel about 50 minutes north on the east coast of Florida. Total distance is less than 60 miles, and would have 1 day to do so.
  • GAME 2: Boca Raton Bowl - December 23, 2014 - FAU Stadium - Boca Raton, FL
    • Marshall (Conference USA) vs. Northern Illinois (MAC)
Two northern teams will get some reprieve from the cold in Boca Raton. The Thundering Herd are on a one loss season, and don't seem to be slowing down. They'll be facing a two loss Huskies team. Not a bad match up on a beautiful stadium.
From here you have 3 days to drive ~250 miles, about a 4 hour drive.
  • GAME 3: Bitcoin St. Petersburg Bowl - December 26, 2014 - Tropicana Field - St. Petersburg, FL
    • NC State (ACC) vs. UCF (AAC)
UCF Knights (9-3) are coming off a season of ups and downs, but this bowl should be good to them seeing how it is an hour drive away from Orlando. I'd expect a lot of UCF fans to cheer on their Knights. This game will be played at Tropicana Field, another baseball stadium, and another one that isn't very good at filling up. We'll see how the Wolf Pack (7-5) can play under the Trop dome.
From here you'll have 3 days to travel 110 miles to downtown Orlando. An hour and a half drive.
  • GAME 4: Russell Athletic Bowl - December 29, 2014 - Florida Citrus Bowl - Orlando, FL
    • Clemson 17 (SEC) vs. Oklahoma (BIG 12)
Clemson (9-3) are coming off a slow season to head to Mouse town to play the Sooners (8-4). This should be a good game, from 2 top level universities. The Citrus Bowl is newly renovated and should perform well for a CFB bowl game.
From here you'll have to head back down south to Miami. You'll have 3 days to make the 230 mile trip.
  • GAME 5: Capital One Orange Bowl - December 31, 2014 - Sun Life Stadium - Miami, FL
    • Mississippi State 7 (SEC) vs. Georgia Tech 12 (ACC)
One of the bigger games in Florida, the Mississippi State Bulldogs (10-2) are coming off one hell of season, and were at one point, the force to reckon with. although they slightly fell from their graces, this still should be a very good game against the Yellow Jackets (10-3). Classic SEC vs ACC game in Miami.
From here you have 2 options, back to Tampa for the next bowl game. You've got 1 day to make the 4 hour trip, roughly 300 miles. OR you head back to Orlando
  • GAME 6a: Outback Bowl - December 1st - Raymond James Stadium - Tampa, FL
    • Auburn 19 (SEC) vs. Wisconsin 18 (B1G)
Big game in Raymond James, which isn't a common thing to hear. The Auburn Tigers (8-4) will be taking on the Badgers (10-3) who got creamed in their last game by THE Ohio State. A win in this game, might help heal their wounds from the beating.
From here, you're headed up to Jacksonville. You have 1 day to make the 210 mile drive
  • GAME 6b: Buffalo Wild Wings Citrus Bowl - January 1, 2015 - Florida Citrus Bowl - Orlando, FL
    • Minnesota 25 (B1G) vs. Missouri 18 (SEC)
Back in Orlando, for a game between the Golden Gophers (8-4) and the Tigers (10-3). The Gohpers and the Tigers have had some close losses.
From here, you'd head up to Jacksonville. You have 1 day to make the 220 mile drive
  • GAME 8: TaxSlayer Bowl - January 2, 2015 - EverBank Field - Jacksonville, FL
    • Iowa (B1G) vs. Tennessee (SEC)
Your final game in Florida is capped off in Jacksonville. At the Jaguars new stadium, it's supposed to be beautiful and has swimming pools filled with their fans tears that you can swim in! The Hawkeyes (7-5) are coming off of a slow season to play the Vols (6-6), who are coming off an equally slow season with notable losses to the Gators and Mizzou.
LOUISIANA 3 games, over 12 days and 651 miles of travel.
  • GAME 1: R+L Carriers New Orleans Bowl - December 20, 2014 - Mercedes Benz SuperDome - New Orleans, LA
    • Nevada (Mountain West) vs. UL LaFayette (SunBelt)
When the hell did the SuperDome become the Mercedes-Benz SuperDome?! Regardless, good start to your Louisiana Bowl Road Trip. The Ragin Cajuns (8-4) will have a large following at the game, against the Wolf Pack (7-5)
From here, you'll travel 400 miles north. You'll have 7 days to do this.
  • GAME 2: Duck Commander Independence Bowl - December 27, 2014 - Independence Stadium - Shreveport, LA
    • Miami(FL) (ACC) vs. South Carolina (SEC)
The Duck Commander Bowl, wow. This will be an interesting game between two lackluster season teams. The Mighty Tropical Storms, and SCAR are both 6 and 6 coming into this bowl game and are looking for a win.
From here, you'll head straight back south to the Super Dome. 400 miles back south, you'll have 5 days to do so.
  • GAME 3: Allstate Sugar Bowl - January 1, 2015 - Mercedes-Benz SuperDome Stadium - New Orleans, LA
    • Alabama 1 vs. Ohio State 4
This is gonna be a big one, boy oh boy. Alabama headed by the mighty demigod Saban facing off against the Man Up North, Urban Meyer. SABAN vs. URBAN, THE BATTLE OF THE BAN.
TENNESSEE - 2 games, over 2 days and a 210 miles of travel.
  • GAME 1: AutoZone Liberty Bowl - December 29, 2014 - Liberty Bowl - Memphis, TN
    • Texas A&M (SEC) vs. West Virginia (BIG 12)
Two teams who started out strong, and puttered out towards the end. A win by either 7 and 5 team would be a good end to a less than fantastic season.
From here, you'll make the 4 hour drive towards Titans-ville Tennessee. Music city baby
  • GAME 2: Franklin American Mortgage Music City Bowl - December 30, 2014 - LP Field - Nashville, TN
    • Notre Dame (Independent) vs. LSU 23 (SEC)
Holy hell, what a mouthful of a name for a Bowl game. but what a way to end your Tennessee road trip, in Nashville, watching one of the most loved/hated teams in America, the Fighting Irish (7-5) take on the Tigers (8-4)
TEXAS 6 games, over 8 days. But really it's 5 games over 8 days. Option A: ~1,650 miles and almost 24 hours of driving. Option B: Almost 2,000 miles.
  • GAME 1: Zaxby's Heart of Dallas Bowl - December 26, 2014 - Cotton Bowl Stadium - Dallas, TX
    • Illinois (B1G) vs. Louisiana Tech (Conference USA)
The fighting Illini (6-6) look to finish their season on a high note in Dallas against the Bulldogs (8-5).
From here, you'll travel across West Texas 640 MILES. good luck with this drive, Texas is boring. You'll have one day, but don't worry, the speed limit is like 80 MPH
  • GAME 2: Hyundai Sun Bowl - December 27, 2014 - Sun Bowl Stadium - El Paso, TX
    • Arizona State 15 (PAC 12) vs. Duke (ACC)
If you survived the drive, congratulations. You get to watch some great football between the Sun Devils (9-3) and the Blue Devils (9-3). You heard that right, this is basically a good old fashioned Satanist seance in West Texas. DEVIL OFF IN THE DESERT, who's devil comes out on top?!
From here, you'll travel from Devil's Land, USA and head 750 miles to Houston. You'll have 2 days to shake that devil juice off.
  • GAME 3: AdvoCare Texas Bowl - December 29, 2014 - NRG Stadium - Houston, TX
    • Texas (BIG 12) vs. Arkansas (SEC)
Expect lots of burnt orange. Regardless of their record, the Longhorns (6-6) record, the fans are still always down to paint any part of Texas burnt orange. But they may go home with their cowboy hats hung low if Arkansas (6-6) can silence them.
From here, you're heading 265 miles north, from one massive Texas city to another. You have 3 days to make this trip, hope you don't hit traffic, or you might not make it.
  • GAME 4: The Goodyear Cotton Bowl - January 1, 2015 - AT&T Stadium - Arlington, TX
    • Michigan State 8 (B1G) vs. Baylor 5 (BIG 12)
Baylor is mad, because they sort of got shafted in the CFB playoffs, so expect some extra pepper in their play (if that's even possible). Michigan State (10-2) is a real force to reckon with, and it'll be a fun time at Jerry World for this one.
From here, you've got 2 options because the next two games fall on the same day. And, just like everything else in Texas, are far apart from one another. Option A: is only 30 minutes away. OR Option B: is 280 miles away, or 4 and half hours.
  • GAME 5a: Lockheed Armed Forces Bowl - January 2, 2015 - Amon G. Carter Stadium - Fort Worth, TX
    • Houston (AAC) vs. Pitt (ACC)
The Houston Cougars (7-5) and the Pitt Panthers (6-6) are neither military schools, but maybe I'm reading that title incorrectly. Regardless, should be a good game between two teams who don't seem to get the coverage they should.
  • GAME 5b: Valero Alamo Bowl - January 2, 2015 - Alamodome - San Antonio, TX
    • K-State 11 (BIG 12) vs. UCLA 14 (PAC 12)
This is gonna be a fun one, both 9 and 3 teams come into this game with a chip on their shoulders. Great uniforms, great offenses, good football!
Well, there you have it. If you've got a boatload of money, a good car for road trips and love driving. Just pick a state, and start your trip!
Can't wait to watch these games on TV, love Bowl Season.

Questions Answers
As someone who creates content, do you think there's a solution for middle class content creators? It seems that they're the most hurt by piracy, yet free-culture proponents almost exclusively focus on large corporations. Kickstarter, Indie Go-Go, and their brethren aren't picking up that slack- tales of success seem to be the outliers, and many of the poster-children (Radiohead, Amanda Palmer, etc.) rely on past success and marketing dollars. So, will this pick up, and will there be a middle class of creators? Or are we now living in a world of (sometimes skilled, but still) amateurs? This is a smart question and demands a much longer answer than i can give here. but the short of it in my opinion is that it's a misunderstanding to assume it's harder for 'middle class artists' in this climate. it's always been very very hard. there have always been obstacles and gatekeepers. the digital landscape has opened many many doors and closed some doors. it's in many ways easier, but you still need that magic combo of talent, tenacity and luck.
Man I'm sorry but I've gotta ask...what happened to you man? Why did Keanu make it out and why did you disappear into obscurity? Haha. not an offensive question at all. I quit acting professionally in 94, after Freaked to focus on writing and directing. I'd been acting professionally since I was 10 years old and I wanted out of the public eye. It's really only been in the last couple of years that i've intentionally been slipping back in front of the camera. But I think it's important for child actors to spend time away from constant exposure. I tell a lot of kids this in that field.
Be honest…has Keanu admitted his immortality to you? I could tell you but then I'd have to kill you. And then he would drink your blood and live for another millenia...
Did you buy any Bitcoins before they blew up in value recently? Haha, I did not. The Winklevoss twins got them all :)
Since George Carlin has died, will there be some new character coming in to replace Rufus in helping the Wyld Stallyns? We've spent a lot of time and thought on making this work. all i can say right now :)
On a scale of 1 to 10, how likely is it that B&T 3 will be financed and actually get made? I'd say 10 but it's Hollywood... so 9.9?
Did you ever use the SR before it went down? I honestly did not. I am a dull family man and most of what i need to purchase online can be found in the toddler section of Amazon :)
Your stepmom is cute. Remember when she was a senior and you were a freshman? Do You get BnT references constantly and do they annoy you? No, thankfully I like the movies a lot. I have some friends who acted in movies that they can't shake that they hated. that is an existential nightmare from which one can never awaken!
Thanks for doing this AMA, and for being part of one of my all-time favorite films. You've been quoted as saying "[Bill and Ted] was a happy accident. No one thought it would ever see the light of day." Could you expand on that? Both BnT movies were made independently. The first one was really low budget and kind of under the radar when we made it. then it sat on a shelf for a year after being made, when the producing company went belly up. So we kind of gave up on it. Then it was bought up and released and was a big hit :)
What was it like working with Mr. T? Is his public persona accurate as to who he really is? It is! Exactly! He's a really great person, into community outreach and helping people. A wonderful guy.
When will we have a new Bill and Ted to watch any plot details You can share? What got You so interested in Bitcoin? Also, Thank You for being so Excellent! Party On! I first got interested in Bitcoin in '09, when it magically appeared out of the ether. Much like Napster appeared out of nowhere 10 years prior. I recognized that Bitcoin felt like the next big thing to come out of peer-to-peer.
What can I do to get into the Bitcoin World. I don't know much about it. Start at blockchain.info. that will lead the way.
Do you think the Tor network is forever tainted due to the Silk Road takedown, or does it still remain a viable method of obtaining true anonymity on the Internet? Absolutely not. SR accounts for a tiny fraction of TOR use and is not going to impact Bitcoin much either in the long run. As Wozniak so perfectly put it, you don't shut down the whole highway when one car is speeding.
What was the funnest thing about making The Lost Boys? Having dirt kicked into my eyes by the two Coreys in my death scene. Actually it wasn't funny at the time; i had full eye contacts in and my cornea got scratched. had to go the hospital. Loved those guys tho...
Any cool memorabilia you kept from Bill and Ted? I had my evil robot head from BnT 2, but it eventually rotted. I used it as a doorstep. My kids loved it :)
What motivated you to be one of the first films to educate those about the online blackmarket? why exactly do you need the funding from the kickstarter? Because, like the Napster story, there is a lot of noise but not a lot of context. I think we need some context and our film will be one form of providing that. We are using Kickstarter for some of the funding in order to begin to build our community for the film. We want people's input, the changes occurring through the Web are part of a global movement.
Are you actually going to provide any information we don't already know from all that's been written about this? Is this just a movie version of a bunch of news articles? Our doc is an expansive examination of a movement that began decades ago and is now hitting a peak of global impact. we are interviewing the core players in this story. It's not the kind of thing news articles do in any capacity. join our kickstarter, be part of the process and of the movie's community :)
How did you do research for the script? How did you get a script just a few weeks after SR was busted? It's a documentary :)
Alex, as someone who studied Napster so much for Downloaded, what would Bill & Ted have thought of it: Most Excellent or Non-Triumphant? They would have said 'huh???'
Is a melvin a synonym for wedgie, or a completely different maneuver executed from the front? You answered your own question :))
Is there any fond memory that stands out from making The Lost Boys? Honestly the most fun i ever had 'working'. Joel Schumacher knows how to create an amazing environment to work in. It's one of my fondest memories of my crazy youth! :)
On the kickstarter page, under the "Silk Road" header, the phrase "trading mostly in drugs and weapons" is used. Don't you feel that claiming that weapon sales were a large part of the silk road's operations is misleading? especially since weapon sales were specifically banned from the site shortly after its creation? Certainly the part about mostly trading in drugs is spot on, but also weapons? Come on, that's just untrue. Sorry if that seems misleading. As the Armory only lasted a year. But SR was built for that purpose wherever it ultimately landed.
I don't know if you remember me, but I went to school with your son in LA, me and my brother stayed at your house a few times. Kinda funny how I never got to thank you for being so excellent in Bill and Ted back then, so I figured I'd do it now! Hey Dante! Hope you guys are well!
I suppose I should ask a question, so what drew you to the idea of the deep web? What made you want to make this movie? The Deep Web lies at the heart of the digital revolution, that has impacted every corner of our lives. There are huge changes that have occurred in the last decade, and many more around the corner. Examining the Deep Web in detail allows us to closely examine this revolution and its implications.
Do you think that the high prices that bitcoins are experiencing right now is actually a bad sign, since it indicates instability? Where do you think the value of Bitcoins will ultimately fall once the bubble bursts? No one knows where it will settle. It's not unlike gold in this regard. But once it's been around a bit longer and more people are taking it, the value will increase within that framework but not in such a wild manner. this form of currency is here to stay, of that there is no question.
How did people find silk road online? That always boggled my mind, because I assume it wasn't as easy as googling it haha Did you have to like, "know" someone in the business to gain membership? It's not hard to find these sites, it's just dangerous. don't go hunting for scorpions unless you are prepared to get stung.
So Deep Web... Do you have a script already? Are you dealing with the actual events, or fictionalizing them? If the former, are you worried about having to pay folks for rights? If you have a script, how does it toe the line between being too simplified to please the target demo/actually tell the story and too esoteric for the mass market? It's a feature documentary. please join our kickstarter :)
I don't think the story is too esoteric at all, just as the details of the Napster story weren't. These are universal stories about global communities.
How much about the deep web did you investigate? I have done some looking into it recently and there is some pretty disgusting stuff out there. To be honest I kind of wish I never heard about it. Silk road is only the tip of the iceberg and to me doesnt seem like that big of a deal compared to some of the other stuff out there like the hitmen websites and human dolls for sale etc. What is your take on the rest of it outside of silk road? There is a lot of dark and horrible stuff in the Dark Web. The Deep Web is a much broader world, and in my view needs to be understood as separate from the much smaller Dark Web, and in need of protection.
When did you get into directing? I realize I could easily find this out on IMDB but it's just cooler to ask the source! Hah, thanks for asking! I actually went to NYU film school to study directing before I acted in all the movies. It's always been one of my passions. I started directing professionally in about 86. Shooting music videos and commercials and then our show on MTV, The Idiot Box.
So I'm guessing MTV/Viacom or somesuch own the DVD rights to The Idiot Box? There was a fair amount of comedy from that era of MTV that I'd love to be able to watch again… MTV owns it... why no DVD... yet...
What was it like working with a big star like Larry "bud" Melman? He was awesome of course. RIP.
Wait, does Satoshi = Stations??? Ahhh you cracked the code!!!
Excellent job on Downloaded! I enjoyed remembering a time in the not so distant past when 'regular people' could not envision a world in which their music lived on a computer. Today, regular people cannot envision a world in which their money lives on a computer. I was also surprised to learn about your early connection with the world of MP3s. Could you elaborate on what you think we can learn about Bitcoin based on your experiences with Napster and the MP3 scene in the late 90's? The world is responding to Bitcoin and a new awareness of the Deep Web much like they responded to Napster, with fear and demonizing. Our film aims to put these things in some context.
What made you want to do this documentary? I've been following the story myself and it's certainly one worth following but how did you yourself first get interested in the topic? I have been interested in global web-based communities and emerging technologies since the mid 80's. There is a revolution occurring in global culture at the moment, that will change everything. and it's only just beginning. what's not interesting about that?? :)
I don't have a question but Excellent Adventure made me who I am today. Thank you. Fuck it, uh. Do you agree that Cinnamon Toast Crunch is hands down the best cereal? My kids do. it's evil.
off, I want to thank you for posting my Rasta Eyeball with a machine gun tattoo on your blog. It made getting it completely worth it. I just want to know which of the characters from Freaked is your favourite? Stuey Gluck!!
And your tat is amazing!
Hello there, thanks for doing this! I just wanted to ask if by making a movie that sheds light on the dark web/bitcoins etc. It will shed more light on an area of the web that generally dislikes the attention. In other words could it create a misaprehension of the mission and possible positive effects the darkweb community tries to provide? I think the current media spin has that effect; in that it tends to paint the entire deep web and bitcoins and cryptography with a negative brush. this is both inaccurate and destructive. Our movie does not paint dark things in a positive light, it gives context to the entire arena.
Will the Silk Road be back? Also, can you say hi to my smokin hot babe Sherry? It is back.
Hey Alex, A quick glance at your wikipedia page has made me realise you directed Knock Me Down by RHCP! Did you have much contact with the band? How was it working with them? Thanks for the AMA; Looking forward to B&T3! I love the chili's and have known them for decades. they are still great, but in the mid 80's when I had the fortune of doing some work with them, it is hard to quantify how amazing they were. the best live act on the road, by far!!
So when are you planning to bless the world with Bill & Ted 3? Soon as we get it up and running!
If you could star in any movie from any time, what movie would it be and what role would you have and why? Buster Keaton in anything probably. No one in the movies ever had a better time.
So what is the "untold" story of Bitcoin/Silk road? Isn't most of it public knowledge by now? Or we'll we have to wait and see the movie? You don't have to wait if you join our Kickstarter and become part of the making of the movie! It is hardly public knowledge as no one has framed this story up yet in one film, and the story itself is unfolding every day. :)
What was the most surprising thing you found out about the Silk Road? That's in the movie :)
Hey Alex, What will Deep Web be like? Sort of a CNN special or does it have a bigger ambition, i.e. are you making it on a scale for wide distribution in movie theaters? If the latter, what documentaries would you compare it to in terms of style and storytelling? Our doc has a broader ambition than reportage. We are making a film about a technological revolution that has been brewing for decades.
Hm, don't know you but this does sound interesting. When can we expect this movie to come out? Anything interesting about these topics you learned? Every day I learn something new and fascinating. We hope to finish within the next year. Join our kickstarter and be part of our community :)
What ''good'' is there in the deep web? I only hear stories about horrific things like drugs, black market stuff, assassins, etc. Also, were you fortunate enough to had invested in bitcoin in it's early stages? The Deep Web is being demonized somewhat in the press, which is a misunderstanding of what it is. DW represents all content on the web that is not indexed. this doesn't mean people are doing bad things. it means they are unseen. the Dark Web is a term that has come to characterize people who use the web for illicit means. the dark web represents a fraction of the Deep Web.
On your Kickstarter campaign, you say, "Bitcoin has the potential to create a level of global disruption that will make Napster look like child's play." Can you expand on that? BitCoin is a peer to peer crypto-currency. Like any peer to peer technology it is decentralized and operated by a wide user base spread across the net. As such it is here to stay, and being an unregulated currency that exists outside the control of banks and governments, it is poised to have a massive impact on the world. That's what I mean :)
Why are you focusing on the darker side of the deep web instead of the good side? Its virtues clearly outweigh the illegal stuff. As someone who appreciates the privacy benefits of Bitcoin, TOR and the Deep Web, I am concerned about the public's disproportionate focus on its negative and illegal uses. Do you plan to address this bias at all? Question 1: I am absolutely not only focusing on the dark side of the Deep Web. In fact one of my key points is that the Deep Web is misrepresented, and inaccurately represented. It is mostly just a reference to all the content on the web that is not indexed. Most of which is not dark and a lot of which is frankly boring private data :)
Are you accepting Bitcoin for the financing of this film? If not, why not? Again, thanks for doing this, but I am concerned that your focus on the negative side of TOR will continue to twist the public's perception in the wrong direction. 2: We will absolutely be accepting BTC for the movie. But Kickstarter does not accept BTC so we are doing that separately. Stay tuned!
3: Yes the bias is a big problem and we will debunk the myths, just as I did with Downloaded. People like to hold onto their preconceptions tho, so I have no illusions about turning the world around :) A lot of people loved my Napster movie, but there were many in the mainstream press who were outraged that I didn't spend more time castigating the Napster architects for being thieves who created piracy software, when clearly that is not the truth, just the well-spun myth. but myths die hard.
How concerned are you with getting all the details right? You plan to talk about things happening in the more obscure and less legal parts of the Internet. The people who use those parts of the Internet are often pretty knowledgeable about the fine technical details, and are annoyed when people get them wrong. Even the term "Deep Web" has a whiff of "Information Superhighway" or "Series of Tubes" about it. Aside from just wanting to get the details right for the sake of having an informative and accurate documentary, are you concerned at all with upsetting the wrong kinds of people by doing this? After all, the guy behind Silk Road is rumoured to have tried(?) to have people killed. Our film isn't a Silk Road movie but an exploration of the history and evolution of the Deep Web, as told by its architects. That is the story that I believe matters most :)
Are you covering other crypto currencies? Also, I didn't think porn hid on the internet. I am yes. This movie is largely about the crypto-revolution.
What are your thoughts on the rather dubious "hired a hitman" charges against DPR (Ross Ulbricht)? Do you think law enforcement used parallel construction to identify the SR server or otherwise make the case against SDPR? Looking forward to this documentary, and I'm a huge fan of Bill and Ted! It's a really fascinating case that is unfolding and changing constantly. No one knows the full story at the moment outside of the Feds, and I'm sure they're chasing some crazy leads trying to iron it all out!
Hey Alex I was just wondering if you used Silk Road for movie research and what the movie is gonna be about? The site used to pride themselves on anonymity so is it a lot of speculation about what goes on behind the curtain or were you able to actually talk to and interview the people behind the scenes of the website? I didn't use SR for research but am in contact with many people close to the world and story.
Can I donate to the Deep Web movie via Bitcoin? I loved the Napster doc, and am super excited for this one, since judging by your prior work I think it will be very high quality. There was no bitcoin address listed on the kickstarter page! Yes Kickstarter does not allow BitCoin pledges. We will have a BitCoin option soon!
Bitcoin is seen as a "dirty" term by the media as it usually relates to illicit activities, what could make it a more clean and friendly method of payment to Joe Smith who runs a small florist in a mid size town in Washington? Time. people need to get used to crypto-currency. it's here to stay and perfectly legitimate unto itself.
I've always been a fan of Bill and Ted, however this question does not related to your career. You actually grew up next to my Dad (His name is Nick) in St. Louis/Clayton. He said your family loved television, and that he always joked your television might blow up one day. As ridiculous as that sounds apparently it actually happened to you guys one day. So did this actually happen? Is my father a liar? How much television does it take before it explodes? Wow that is some ancient history! Yes when I was five my brother and I got into a fight and someone hit the tv with their body, hard (such is the way of fraternal skirmishes, my bro and I have actually always been super close). We didn't know we had blown some of the electricals inside the TV and the next time it was turned on it exploded into flames (for real!) and burned the whole house down (totally true story!!)
What are your thoughts on other cryptocurrencies like Litecoin? I think it is early days for crypto-currency and eventually one will rule the roost. Whichever proves to be the most stable, trustworthy and provides the best ease of use.
I just hope that it's objective and that it doesn't needlessly throw BitCoin into dis-appeal. I mean, there have been other digital currencies which had been used for drugs, hitmen, child porn, whatever else. Sigh. Just don't slander it, k? <3 I totally agree with you, that's the movie :)
Are you worried about how Deep Web will portray bitcoin? Us bitcoin folks are already rather irritated about how much people make the point that bitcoin is used for illegal things, without pointing out that cash is used for the same thing. Oh we are making very very clear all the legitimate uses for Bitcoin.
Alex, do you think that Satoshi Nakamoto has any sort of link or relationship to Ross Ulbricht? Yes some people have been saying that. There are other people believed to have created Bitcoin that we are talking to.
What are your personal thoughts on the deep web and how it operates? Do you think the bit coin business model is the future of personal commerce? I do yes.
Don't you think it is a little early to start writing a story before the truth is completely released? I've been following the take down since day one and there are still so many things that haven't been answered. Absolutely. Our movie is about the Deep Web, it's not a Silk Road movie.
What do you think about Silk Road 2.0 being open? Inevitable.
Have you been able to get any key actors in Bitcoin, Silk Road etc to go on the record unanonymously? BTW...San Dimas HS football rules! Yes we have :)
I live in San Dimas. Do you know what you've done to me any time I meet people from out of town? Sorry. truly. We didn't shoot there, we shot it in Phoenix, so I never thought about San Dimas one way or the other. Until many years later I made the mistake of taking my kids to the water park there without thinking about it. Very very very VERY big mistake for "Bill" to waltz into a water park in San Dimas...
What do you think George Carlin would have said about Bitcoin and Silk Road? Link to www.youtube.com
Can you please make sure that bitcoin ends up not getting the image of "crack dollars"? I'd like if people didn't associate bitcoins with just silk road. Agree!!
Bill& Ted 3: elaborate please! We have the script and our producing team on board, in finance mode now... :)
What is socrates like in real life. A windbag.
New Idiot Box sketches on YouTube please. Burrowing Bishop, If I Had My Way, etc.etc. I think everything we shot has made its way up there :)
I have yet to ever have a question answered in an AMA, not a question but a simple acknowledgment of my existence would be fantastic. Love BnT BTW. You exist!!!
We demand a sequel to Freaked. That is all. Me too! One day... many many eons from now... it will happen...
Can you give me 3 words that will best describe the movie to me. Join our Kickstarter! :)
