Hi everyone. Pleased to be here! Thank you for taking your time to join me.
I’m the Chief Business Development Officer for TomoChain.
Educationally I graduated university with degrees in both Industrial Engineering and Economics from Georgia Tech, and later earned an MBA from the Wharton School of Business.
I grew up as a gaming addict and have a video game collection that is a bit unwieldy. Dozens of consoles and, at one point, over 13 classic arcade machines.
So, before crypto, I spent much of my profession in the gaming space. I was a Game Designer, Game Producer, and eventually Studio Head for a major games studio that was recently purchased by Rockstar Games. I have run my own game-related tech businesses as well.
I fell into crypto back in 2014, and over time it became a second passion of mine as I began to truly understand the value of decentralization. True ownership of data was not possible until Bitcoin came along and that is simply a powerful and game-changing message to a world structure built on an opposing foundation.

TomoChain is a Public Blockchain powered by Proof-of-Stake Voting. TomoChain launched into Mainnet 1 year ago in December 2018. It is secured by 150 Masternodes, of which I’m proud to be an operator myself. TomoChain is EVM Compatible and runs at a speedy 2000 TPS with a 2 Sec Blocktime. Gas fees are almost zero too.
Based out of Vietnam, TomoChain is Southeast Asia’s largest public blockchain. We are focusing on developing a full suite of DeFi products. We also have commercial and enterprise clients. TomoChain has a number of major crypto-partnerships including notables like Neo Blockchain, Chainlink and Crypto.com. Our Masternode network is run by some of the most recognizable players in the space as well, including Neo Global Capital, CoinGecko, HashQuark, KuCoin, and more large players are on the way.
TomoChain earned its place onto Binance.com with a fee-free listing last year by winning the BinanceDEX community vote in August 2019. Binance has written us up in a detailed Binance Research Report and awarded us the V-Label. We have also been in a number of their reports, including those related to Dapps and DeFi. We have been interviewed by Forbes.com official and had an in-person interview at NASDAQ, in the heart of Times Square, about TomoChain and our upcoming TomoX Protocol.
In China, specifically, we have been integrated into and have solid relationships with various blockchain players including HashQuark, HashKey, CoboWallet, Conflux, and many others. We launched an Ecosystem Development partnership with Neo Blockchain last December and co-hosted a meetup + workshop with them as well.

GEARED FOR REAL WORLD USE
Now, let’s talk about how TomoChain has been built for real-world use.
We’re looking at Payments & DeFi as low hanging fruit when it comes to user adoption and TomoChain is developing a suite of tools to support this. The biggest challenge for having users benefit from Blockchain on a day-to-day basis is how much friction is involved to acquire, store and use it. Even stable coins are dual currency systems. The Stablecoin and then the Native Token to pay gas fees. Blockchain is simply not user-friendly.
Our view is that the true solution for Blockchain adoption by the world is end-users shouldn’t need to know they are using blockchain technology at all. It should be a hidden technology layer, similar to payment processor settlements or even the internet distribution centers/routers that power this very AMA we’re all participating in right now. Do we need to know the underlying technology infrastructure to use them? Nope.
We are developing a system to hide this friction, so the TomoChain blockchain can be integrated into real-world applications that you use every day on mobile or web.
There are 3 protocols that we are building to enable this future: (1) TomoZ: Zero Friction (2) TomoX: The DEX Protocol (3) TomoP: The Privacy Suite.

https://preview.redd.it/irwduto4m5t41.png?width=741&format=png&auto=webp&s=56e21c8e56b86af197344d7a043d073456c53181
TomoZ: Zero Friction - Our TomoZ protocol is a core starting point to the solution for mass market use of blockchain technology. TomoZ: Zero Friction allows for token issuance and use by having gas fees paid by the token itself. That means you don’t need TOMO to send transactions. You don’t even need to know you’re using the TomoChain blockchain.
So you could buy a cup of coffee at a café using loyalty points that are TomoZ tokens. The customers redeem for their coffee or earn it, but they don’t even have to know it’s a blockchain token which they actually own.
This approach is structured to enable the next million-plus users to utilize blockchain as a technology layer. After all, the real value of any Blockchain is in its utilization of high-quality transactions.
Now, TomoZ transactions aren’t FREE. It actually does use TOMO, but that’s hidden from the end-user. The way it works is that the token issuer deposits a small amount of TOMO into a pool. Every time the token is sent, TOMO is taken from this pool to pay the Masternodes.
The key is that the end-user doesn’t need to get involved with internal workings, which is why we call it the Zero Friction protocol
Now let’s talk about TomoX: The DEX Protocol
TomoX is an upcoming DEX Protocol that allows anyone to launch their on permissionless Decentralized Exchange in minutes. It requires very little technical knowledge making it a near turn-key solution.
TomoX is the fastest DEX experience since it’s a Layer 1 protocol. This means it’s run and secured by the entire TomoChain network. Our Masternodes manage the DEX instructions directly, rather than other DEXs that operate as a Layer 2 protocol. What this means is TomoX DEXs will operate at about 50x faster than a typical 0x exchange. That significantly improves the end-user experience.
TomoX DEX operators have access to a shared liquidity pool across all DEXs. That means a user buying on one DEX can be matched with a user selling on another DEX. Of course, Operators can customize and choose which tokens to include.
TomoX is fully decentralized since the Order Book is on-chain. Many other semi-decentralized exchanges store the OB on a centralized service in order to speed up the execution. That means there is a centralized point of weakness for them. TomoX minimizes custody and security challenges that centralized exchanges have too since all users are always in possession of their assets.
TomoX is currently in testnet and you can checkout TomoChain’s own DEX, aptly called TomoDEX, here: https://dex.testnet.tomochain.com/
Here is a link to get some free Testnet TOMO that can be used on the testnet version of TomoDEX: https://faucet.testnet.tomochain.com/
And finally, there is TomoP: Privacy Suite - TomoP is currently in testnet and is going to be the FASTEST way to send tokens privately. 2-4 seconds fast!
Any token issued on TomoChain will be able to utilize TomoP to send privately and anonymously. And that’s not all. We are including access to wrapped BTC, ETH, USDT, and other tokens that can also utilize the blazing speed and privacy that TomoP will offer.
Dapp privacy is a major part of TomoP. It is going to allow for the creation of Dapps to be built to handle customer data with true privacy, including from the Dapp operators themselves. This can jumpstart a new wave of applications geared towards hiding user information, transactions, assets owned, etc.
We are issuing a new token standard (TRC21p) which will be purely private. The only data available will be on its token supply. Token issuers can optionally provide auditing access to enforcement authorities to meet regulatory compliance. What this means is if the next Global PayPal/Skrill/Alipay competitor can build their service right on TomoChain and meet the most basic criteria required to stay above board in many jurisdictions.

Questions from the host
1. It’s been stated that TomoChain was on track to be a cash flow positive business, is it currently cash flow positive? What services or products is it offering to bring in this revenue?
Yes, absolutely. Our plan is to be cash flow positive this year. This really goes back to the level of experience our executive team has. Everyone is seasoned, having come from different fields, in big business and startups. Before the crazy boom of ICOs and IEOs, raising funding for traditional startups required considerable proof that there was market fit, that there were actual customers to drive revenue, and a model for growth.
We knew that TomoChain’s funds raised during the ICO were for a space that has yet to prove itself so the company had to be smart in budgeting for an uncertain future. And part of that initial preparation was selling much of the ICO proceeds into fiat. Something MANY blockchain startups did not do, largely due to ambitious teams that are also headed by very inexperienced leaders. So while the bubble burst, we had capital to continue operations and to even scale it.
And, we ARE running a business. A sustainable business requires us to identifying areas to generate income in order to minimize risk and to sustain the business in the long term. So we do both consulting and services work by helping clients to develop wallets, launch tokens (Orbyt), build exchanges (AIS), and of course enterprise solutions on the blockchain of which we have clients based out of Japan and in the Middle East using blockchain for traceability solutions across various industries from automotive, healthcare, and food.
2. What is the most strategical step TOMO is doing to bring adoption of TOMO coin to our daily lives?
Empowering businesses with a truly scalable blockchain that can be used by thousands and millions of users. We see user adoption of blockchain coming from businesses that base their solutions on blockchain technology. And, TomoChain has a number of real income-generating companies that have built on us, from exchanges to payment services to enterprise clients. Not bad for 1 year I say, especially during a stagnant market. Here are some examples.
UcarPac – A Top 10 User Car company in Japan is building traceability solutions on the blockchain. We completed a POC at the end of last year. After the assessment, the client decided it was solid and commissioned Phase 2 to expand the development of the project for commercialization purposes
Triip Protocol – Triip is a destination service for travelers to book vacations powered by Blockchain. Triip is a Shark Tank Vietnam alumnus, and the first ICO on TomoChain. Users can book tours and staycations using Triip or TOMO tokens.
WisePass – A service that sells subscription services to get discounted Starbucks, Singha Beer, and even makeup (of all things) integrated TomoChain as a payment solution
“Undisclosed Vendor” – Soon to be announced, a large player in the corporate gift giving business is also launching a Dapp on TomoChain to allow for them to make purchases with TOMO across thousands of items.
Maka - A peer-to-peer marketplace to conveniently buy/sell TOMO and other blockchain tokens using standard payment gateways, including e-wallets and bank transfers.
Coin98 – A local Vietnam crypto media company launched an App to allow for their community to earn their TomoChain token called C98 and use it for products and services geared around investors and gamers. The reception has been HUGE. 95,000 users and generating 500K+ transactions on our blockchain within 3 months of their launch! They are proving that innovative new business models can be adopted relying on and being blockchain specific.

https://preview.redd.it/mlol3zl6m5t41.png?width=759&format=png&auto=webp&s=4a516404ed6a15de0e56fd08ed1e354a53c4191e
3. Do you have any plans to collaborate with developers or attract more Dapps built on TomoChain?
We are today. Our founders run the largest Blockchain Developer community in Vietnam and we work with a number of them to help develop solutions on the blockchain.
Our team has held Hackathons a few times over the last couple years and we have done developer workshops too, including one with Neo Blockchain. And this year we are working closely with educational institutions to launch blockchain courses in Vietnam.
Every Dapp developer we work with is a partner. We try to provide as much support as possible, both technical and marketing. A number of Dapps are games on TomoChain and we hold contests regularly to promote the developers and their titles.
Since we are focusing on alleviating the friction of blockchain technology, we are building out an API that will make it even easier for developers to integrate blockchain into standard applications. This is intended to allow standard non-blockchain application developers to operate in an environment they are accustomed to while also having the benefit of blockchain technology accessible.
Onboarding more developers will take time. However, I’m confident we’re on the cusp of something wonderful in the coming years that will change the relationship between users and applications enabled by blockchain. Entirely new economic structures can be set up since it’ll be the users owning all of their data for the first time in digital history. And true ownership is a powerful motivator that can be harnessed by innovative blockchain businesses.

A tour of the Gridcoin wallet

Hey guys, I thought I would put together an in-depth tour of the Gridcoin wallet software for all of our recent newcomers. Here I'll be outlining all the features and functions the windows GUI wallet has to offer, along with some basic RPC command usage. I'll be using the windows wallet as an example, but both linux and macOS should be rather similar. I'll be including as many pictures as I can as embedded hyperlinks.
Edit: Note that since I originally made this there has been a UI update, so your client will be different colors but all the button locations are in the same place.
This is my first post like this, so please forgive me if this appears a little scatter-brained.
This will not cover the mining setup process for pool or solo miners.
When you launch the wallet software for the first time you should be greeted with this screen.

OVERVIEW TAB

After that prompt, you should be left sitting on the main overview tab with several fields on it.
From top to bottom:

SEND TAB

Now onto the other tabs on the left side. Currently we're on the Overview tab, lets move down to the Send tab. This tab it pretty self-explanatory, you use it if you want to send coins, but I'll go over the fields here:
  • Pay To: Enter a valid gridcoin address to send coins too. Gridcoin addresses always start with an S or and R.
  • Label: Enter a label here and it will put that address in your "address book" under that label for later use. You can leave it blank if you don't want it in your address book.
  • Message: Enter a message here if you want it attached to your transaction.
  • Amount: How many coins you want to send.
  • Add Attachment: Leave this alone, it is broken.
  • Track Coins: This doesn't do anything.

RECEIVE TAB

Now down to the Receive tab. Here you should have a single address listed. If you double click on the label field, you can edit it's label.
  • New: Generate a new address.
If you click on an address, the rest of the options should be clickable.
  • Copy: Copy the selected address to your clipboard.
  • Show QR Code: Show a scan-able QR code for the selected address.
  • Sign Message: Cryptographically sign a message using the selected address.

TRANSACTIONS TAB

The Transactions tab is pretty boring considering we have no transactions yet. But as you can see there are some sorting tools at the top for when you do have transactions listed.

ADDRESS BOOK TAB

The Address Book is where all the addresses you've labeled (that aren't yours) will show up.
  • Verify Message: Verifies a message was signed by the selected address.
The rest of the functions are similar to the functions on the Receive tab.

VOTING TAB

Onto the Voting tab. There wont be any polls because we aren't in sync yet.
  • Reload Polls: Pretty self-explanatory, I've never had to use this.
  • Load History: By default, the wallet will only display active polls. If you want to view past polls you can use this.
  • Create Poll: You can create a network-wide poll. You must have 100,000 coins as a requirement to make a poll. (Creating a poll does not consume the coins)
Here's what the Voting tab will look like once you're in sync

CONTEXT BAR

Now onto the context bar menus on the top.
Under File you have:
  • Backup Wallet/Config: This lets you backup your wallet configuration file just in case.
  • Export: You can export your Transactions tab or Address Book in CSV format.
  • Sign message: Does the same thing as on the Receive tab.
  • Verify message: Does the same thing as on the Address Book tab.
  • Exit: Close the wallet.
Under Settings you have:
  • Encrypt Wallet: Encrypts your wallet with a password. (we'll come back to this)
  • Change Passphrase: Allows you to change your encryption password.
  • Options: Opens the options menu. (We'll come back to this)
Under Community you have:
Under Advanced you have:
  • Advanced Configuration: Opens the Advanced Configuration menu. (Not so advanced if you ask me)
  • Neural Network: Allows you to view solo miners project statistics. It will be largely blank if you're not in sync yet.
  • FAQ: Don't touch this, It is broken.
  • Foundation: Don't touch this, It is broken.
  • Rebuild Block Chain: Starts the client syncing from 0. Don't worry, using this will not make you lose coins.
  • Download Blocks: Downloads the latest official snapshot, can help speed up syncing. The download progress tends to sit at 99.99% for a long time, don't worry, it's working.
Under Help you have:
  • Debug window: Opens the debug window. (We'll come back to this)
  • Diagnostics: Don't touch this, it is broken. This has since been fixed. You can use this to see if there is anything wrong with your setup.
  • About Gridcoin: Opens the About Dialog. This gives you your client version and other information.

OPTIONS

Now back to the options menu under Settings > Options.
Here we have the options menu main tab:
  • Pay transaction fee: The transaction fee that will be automatically paid when you make a transaction.
  • Reserve: You can reserve an amount so that it will always be available for spending.
  • Start Gridcoin on system login: Pretty self-explanatory
  • Detach databases at shutdown: Speeds up shutdown, but causes your blockchain file to no longer be portable.
On the Network tab:
  • Map port using UPnP: Attempts to connect to nodes through UPnP.
  • Connect through SOCKS proxy: Allows you to connect through a proxy.
The window tab is pretty self-explanatory.
The Display tab is also pretty self-explanatory, with the exception of:
  • Display coin control features (experts only!): This allows you to have a great deal of control over the coins in your wallet, check this for now and I'll explain how to use it further down. Don't forget to click "Apply".

ENCRYPTING YOUR WALLET

Now that all of that is out of the way. The first thing you'll want to do is encrypt your wallet. This prevents anybody with access to your computer from sending coins. This is something I would recommend everyone do.
Go to Settings > Encrypt Wallet and create a password. YOU CANNOT RECOVER YOUR COINS IF YOU FORGET YOUR PASSWORD.
Your wallet will close and you will have to start it up again. This time when it opens up, you should have a new button in the bottom left. Now if you want to stake you will have to unlock your wallet. Notice the "For staking only" box that is checked by default. If you want to send a beacon for solo mining or vote, you will need to uncheck this box.

GETTING IN SYNC AND ICONS

Before we continue, Let's wait until we're in sync. Depending on your internet speeds, this could take from several hours to over a day or 2. This can be sped up by using Advanced > Download Blocks, but this can still take several hours.
This is what an in-sync client should look like. Notice the green check to the right of the Receive tab. All of these icons give you information when you hover your mouse over them.
The lock
The arrow tells you if you're staking. If you aren't staking, it will tell you why you're not staking. If you are staking it will give you an estimated staking time. Staking is a very random process and this is only an estimate, not a countdown.
The connection bars tell you how many connections to the network you have.
The check tells you if you're in sync.

WHAT IS STAKING?

Now I've said "stake" about a million times so far and haven't explained it. Gridcoin is a Proof of Stake (PoS) coin.
Unlike bitcoins Proof of Work (PoW), PoS uses little system resources, so you can use those resources for scientific work. PoS works by users "Staking" with their balance. The higher the balance, the higher the chance to create, or "stake" a block. This means you need to have a positive balance in order to stake. Theoretically, you can stake with any amount over 0.0125 coins, but in practice it's recommended to have at least 2000 coins to reliably stake.
Staking is important for solo miners, because they get paid when they stake. Pool miners don't need to stake in order to get paid however. So if you want to solo mine, you'll need to buy some coins from an exchange or start in the pool first and move to solo when you have enough coins.
In addition to Research Rewards for miners, anyone who holds coins (solo miners, pool miners, and investors) gets 1.5% interest annually on top of your coins. So it can be beneficial for pool miners to stake as well.
Here is a snippet of what a research rewards transaction looks like from my personal wallet. I have a label on that address of "Payout address" as you can see here.

UTXOS AND COIN CONTROL

At this point you'll need some coins. You can use one of our faucets like this one or this one to test coin control out.
First let me explain what a UTXO is. UTXO stands for Unspent Transaction Output. Say you have an address with 0 coins in it, and someone sends you 10 coins like I've done here. Those 10 coins are added to that address in the form of a UTXO, so we have an address with one 10 coin UTXO in it.
Now we receive another 5 coins at the same address, like so. Now we have an address with one 10 coin UTXO and one 5 coin UTXO. But how do we view how our addresses are split up into different UTXOs?
Earlier we checked the "Display coin control features" box in Settings > Options > Display. Once that's checked you'll notice there's another section in the Send tab labeled "Coin Control Features". If you click the "Inputs" button, you'll get a new window. And look, there's our 2 UTXOs.
All UTXOs try to stake separately from each other, and remember that the chance a UTXO has to stake is proportional to it's size. So in this situation, my 10 coin UTXO has twice the chance to stake as my 5 coin UTXO. Now wallets, especially ones that make a lot of transactions, can get very fragmented over time. I've fragmented my wallet a little so I can show you what I'm talking about.
How do we clean this up? We can consolidate all this into one UTXO by checking all the boxes on the left and selecting OK.
Now pay attention to the fields on the top:
  • Quantity: The total amount of UTXOs we have selected.
  • Amount: The total amount of coins we have selected.
  • Fee: How much it would cost in fees to send all those UTXOs (more UTXOs = more transaction data = more fees)
  • After Fee: Amount - Fees.
  • Bytes: How large the transaction is in bytes.
  • Priority: How your client would prioritize making a transaction with this specific set of UTXOs selected had you not used coin control.
  • Low Output: If your transaction is less than 0.01 coins (I think).
  • Change: What you will get back in change.
  • custom change address: You can set the address you get your change back at, by default it will generate a new address.
So let's fill out our transaction so we end up with 1 UTXO at the end.
In "Pay To:" Just put any address in your wallet, and for the amount put what it has listed in the "After Fee" Field. Just like this.
Notice how we get no change back.
Now click "Send", we'll be prompted to enter our passphrase and we're asked if we want to pay the fee, go ahead and click "Yes".
Now if we go back to the Overview tab we get this funky icon. If you hover your mouse over it, it says "Payment to yourself", and the -0.0002 GRC is the network transaction fee.
(Ignore the first one, that was me fragmenting my wallet)
Now if we look at the Coin Control menu, we can see that we've slimmed our wallet down from 7 UTXOs to 1.
Now why would you want to use coin control?
2 Situations:
  1. UTXOs less than 0.0125 coins cannot stake. So you can combine a lot of tiny, useless UTXOs into 1 bigger one that can stake.
  2. After a UTXO stakes, it cannot stake for another 16 hours. So if you have 1 large UTXO that is big enough to stake more than once every 16 hours, you can split it into smaller UTXOs which can allow you to stake slightly more often.
  3. By default, the wallet will always generate a new address for change, which can make your wallet get very messy if you're sending lots of transactions. Keep in mind that more UTXOs = larger transactions = more fees.
Sidenote - When you stake, you will earn all research rewards owed reguardless of which UTXO staked. However, you'll earn the 1.5% interest for that UTXO. Not your whole wallet.

FORKING

A fork is when the network splits into multiple chains, with part of the network on each chain. A fork can happen when 2 blocks are staked by different clients at the same time or very close to the same time, or when your client rejects a block that should have been accepted due to a bug in the code or through some other unique circumstance.
How do I know if I'm on a fork?
Generally you can spot a fork by looking at the difficulty on your Overview tab. With current network conditions, if your difficulty is below 0.1, then you're probably on a fork.
You can confirm this by comparing your blockhash with someone elses, like a block explorer.
Go to [Help > Debug Window > Console]. This is the RPC console, we can use to do a lot of things. You can type help to get a list of commands, and you can type help [command you need help with] (without the brackets) to get information on a command. We'll be using the getblockhash [block number] command.
Type getblockhash [block number] in the console, but replace [block number] with the number listed next to the "Blocks:" field on the Overview tab.
This will spit out a crazy string of characters, this is the "blockhash" of that block.
Now head over to your favorite block explorer, I'll be using gridcoinstats. Find the block that you have the hash for, use the search bar or just find it in the list of blocks.
Now compare your hash with the one gridcoinstats gives you. Does it match?
If it matches, then you're probably good to go. If it matches but you still think you're on a fork, then you can try other block explorers, such as gridcoin.network or neuralminer.io.
If it doesn't match, then you need to try to get off that fork.
How do I get off a fork?
  1. Just wait for an hour or two. 95% of the time your client is able to recover itself from a fork given a little time.
  2. Restart the client, wait a few minutes to see if it fixes itself. If it doesn't restart again and wait. Repeat about 4 or 5 times.
  3. Find where the fork started. Using the getblockhash command, go back some blocks and compare hashes with that on a block explorer so you can narrow down what the last block you and the block explorer had in common. Then use reorganize [the last block hash you had in common]. Note that reorganize takes a blockhash, not a block number.
  4. Use Advanced > Download Blocks.
  5. If none of this works, you can take a look at social media (reddit/steemit) and see what other people are saying.

CONFIGURATION FILE

Your configuration file depends on your operation system:
  • On Windows: %appdata%\GridcoinResearch\
  • On Linux: ~/.GridcoinResearch/
  • On MacOS: /Users/USERNAME/Library/Application/Support/GridcoinResearch/
And it should look like this.
If you open up your gridcoinresearch.conf, you'll see the default one it generated. Note that if you entered your email earlier, the first line will have your email on it instead of "investor". If you decided you want to solo mine but didn't enter your email when you first started the wallet, go ahead and put your email on the first line in place of "investor". If you're a pool miner, just leave it as "investor".
Next, it's recommended that you use the addnodes on the gridcoin wiki. So our gridcoinresearch.conf will look like this.
A useful line for solo miners is PrimaryCPID=[YOUR CPID]. Sometimes your wallet can pick up on the wrong CPID so it's good to have that in there if you're solo mining.

RUNNING A LISTENING NODE

A listening node is a node that listens for blocks and transactions broadcasted from nodes and forwards them on to other nodes. For example, during the syncing process when you're getting your node running for the first time, you're downloading all the blocks from listening nodes. So running a listening node helps support the network.
Running a gridcoin listening node is simple. All you need to do is add listen=1 to your gridcoinresearch.conf and you need to forward port 32749 on your router.
If you don't know how to port forward, I'd suggest googling "How to port forward [your router manufacturer]".

around $60 in about a week and a half, $49 of that from one site.

Opinion Outpost fillout surveys for points, redeem points for paypal, amazon gift cards, frequent flyer miles, a couple of others that i don't recall cause i only cash out to paypal. 100 pts = $1 on paypal, and most surveys are around 15-25 pts, plus every so often you'll get bonus pts. i've earned and successfully cashed out $49 in a little over a week. no referral system to worry about, about an hour a day should be fine, i keep doin surveys til i run out for the day. heads up, a couple of them will say stuff like "select 3 out of 10 for this" just to make sure you aren't clicking wildly but thats rare. $10 minimum FIRST payout to paypal, $3 minimum after that, transfers to paypal within minutes. the rest of this is ways to earn bitcoin, but since the value tends to fluctuate its hard to say how much you could make, but my bitcoin wallet is at about $15 (combined from these sources) since i started.
Land of Bitcoin this one will take you to tons of faucets and (loosely) keep track of when they are ready to dispense again. i would recommend hiding faucets that don't payout to a microwallet.org or coinbox.me account, which is just a handful, mostly so that you can more easily keep track of all your loose satoshi floating around out there. i suggest creating an account and leaving the main page open, you'll get more free satoshi and if the faucet ever stops just enter the captcha and more free comin your way. also earned a decent amount playing the Kate poker free-rolls, but just a heads up it didn't adjust for daylight savings so you'll have to check Kate Poker for when the freerolls actually start Referral Non Referral
Earn Crypto this one is a bit of a mixed bag, you have to be careful about the offers it has or you'll wind up with a bit of spyware and such. do the surveys and account creation stuff (on a throw away email) for easy "crypto points" which can then be exchanged for Bitcoin, Dogecoin, Litecoin, Peercoin, Namecoin, you pretty much name it, even Linden for second life, seriously. Avoid the "supersonicad" section and do the Peanut surveys or the Crowdflower tasks and watch the occasional video for the most "crypto points" ever 1000 crypto can be exchanged for you preferred coin. i got 1400 points for creating a fake turbotax account in about 15 seconds. AVOID any offers that want you to download something or check your credit scores, for pretty much anything else a throwaway email is all youll need but i STRONGLY recommend just stickin to the peanut lab surveys. Referral Non Referral
Bit Chest a simple temp wallet and a list of consistently paying faucets that you can use ever 30 minutes will earn you the minimum payout of 5000 satoshi in a bout a day with very little effort. no muss, no fuss, NO SIGNUP, just enter a bitcoin wallet address
Qoinpro this is the only true faucet i've found in my opinion, but if you are a bitcoin person its also the lowest paying, relying more on referral system to actually earn you something. this site pays you Bitcoin(0.00000001), Litecoin (0.00000030), Feathercoin (0.00002419), Fedoracoin (0.39141087), and infinitecoin (0.02272727), in small amounts every 24 hours. people are pushing for them to add dogecoin to the faucet but its not there yet if you're a dogeperson Referral Non Referral
Freebitcoinz 2000 free satoshi ever 24 hours for just entering 2 captcha's. quick and simple. for every 1000 a referral earns you earn an additonal 250 Referral Non Referral
update: just wanna say thanks to everyone who clicked on my various referrals :)

[TASK] I will give you 2,000 bits to play Chopcoin.io if you register with my referral link for first 20 people

Overview
Chopcoin.io is a simple skill based browser game similar to Agar.io in which players battle each other as little blobs, trying to grow/eat other players and avoid getting eaten. The game is very addicting and fun. And with Chopcoin, you can actually earn/win Bitcoin by buying in to different playgrounds in an attempt to outcompete your competitors by eating their bits.
The Task
The task is to sign-up for a Chopcoin account using my referral link here:
http://www.chopcoin.io/account/referral/673
The Reward
The reward is that I will deposit 2,000 bits directly into your account once I see your user name listed in my referrals list. For reference, 2,000 bits will get you 20 plays worth in the low-rollers playground (100 bits per buy-in), and that's not even including the faucet playground which you can play for free and still win some small amount of bits if you place in the top 5 per game.
How To Get Your Bits
Once I confirm your username is in my referrals list I will send the bits straight to your account and respond here with a link to confirm the transaction.
Game Play Strategy
If you're not familiar with Chopcoin or Agar.io, then I highly recommend practicing in the Faucet playground in order to learn how to play before using up all your 2000 bits :)
Here's an excellent strategy guide if you want to get really good and win a lot of bitcoin: https://coinlife.me/chopcoin-guide-beat-the-best-bitcoin-gambling-game/
Also, check out /chopcoin for more information and game discussion.
Restrictions
In order to help avoid duplicate requests, I'm limiting this offer to Redditors who have an account more than 1 month old.
Best of luck everyone, hope to see your blobs on the playground and try not to get eaten :)

How to make Ðoge for free

TL;DR: get doge from faucets, gambling and by doing jobs. Faucets are slow, gambling is risky, jobs are awesome. Pick your link, read it if you want and that's all. Have fun guys. Don't gamble too much.
Hello! I started collecting Ðogecoins about a month ago. I can't mine so I can only use faucets or other websites that give out Ðoge or pay for a job with Ðoge.
Currently I have 11,456 Ð, all made from nothing (except about 3.5k Ð, but I'll talk about this in the end).
So I want to tell you how to make some Ðoge if you can't buy it or you can't mine.
There are 3 ways to do it:
  1. Faucets
  2. Gambling
  3. Jobs
But let me explain for the new people out there:
So we know what gives us Ðoge, the question is how do we let them give us Ðoge.
Fair enough let's get into business. Let's start from the faucets.
Over time I noticed there are 3 kinds of faucets:
Good faucets: (the ones that give the most)
  • Sericata: pays 1 doge up to 3 or more every hour at :40. It's a different kind of faucets, it does not have a timer based on you but it is based on their server. So if you queue up at 12:30 it pays at 12:40 and you can queue up at 12:41 and it will do the next payment at 13:40. I hope this is clear.
  • Freedoge.com (no ref): great, great faucet! Will give out doge based on the current exchange value. Also it's not really a faucet... Well it is but you can win up to x10000 the normal payout, which right now is 807,440.73 DOGE. How does it work? Every hour you roll a number, look at the table on the website and if your number is in there you get that amount. Easy. It has gambling too, I will talk about it in the gambling section later. The referral system is also great, not only you get your full payout but your referrer gets half of that. The referrer can also choose to give out different amounts of doge to his refs. Here is my ref link.
  • doge.actylla.com: Wonderful list of faucets, updated regurarly. The list has the payouts of the faucets, the reset time and all other information you need. Thanks needfuelz for reminding me of it. :)
Neutral faucets: (the ones that give but takes time)
  • DogeCheckIn.com (no ref): every 5 minutes you can do a checkin which gives 0.15 but you get the chance to win up to 2000 doge based on the numbers you get. Took me rougly 500 checkins to make 200 doge, it's decent but takes a week to get to the minimum payout (which is 80 doge). I won't post the ref here because I'm not interested in this website any longer, but here's how the ref works anyway: the referrer gets 25% extra of his referrals earnings. That's all.
  • Rena Faucet: it's not so slow. Every 2 hours you get to see and Ad and you get a number, depending on what's the number you get a payout, minimum 20 doge payout. There is no ref. Works with Bitcoin, Litecoin, Darkcoin and Mooncoin as well.
Unknown/Bad faucets: (the ones I don't know or give nothing at huge intervals)
Basicly everything that is not listed. If it was good or I knew about it I would post it there.
GAMBLING. OH DEAR GOD GAMBLING.
The websites for this.. there are soooo many. I don't personally use it too much, since I am a bad gambler but here are 2 websites that are pretty good.
Keep in mind, they usually give you a SECRET link which is your account, DO NOT give it out or others can access it.
  • Wheel of Doge: it's a wheel. That spins. The cool part? You choose how much to bet and you choose the win%. Yes. You can get up to 98.49%. This is more for the safe bets, it won't give you much, but it's safe.
  • Dogeking: just gambling. Nothing much. It has nice options for automated gambling and gives you stats. Don't gamble too much.
  • Dogesp.in: if I gamble, I go here. It has blackjack, roulette, video poker and dice. Actually managed to win quite a bit here in the roulette. It's pretty good. It even gives you a fake amount of doge to try it out. So even if you don't plan to gamble with real doge you can do it with fake doge!
Jobs, oh yes jobs.
Remember Microworker? There is Microworker but with crypto.
  • Work4Crypto: pick a job! Do the job! Get paid! From clicking a link to do a survey, there is everything. Or maybe you want to give some attention to your friendly forum? Add a job here on Work4Crypto and you can pay people to go check out your forum. It's great. If you have any kind of problems, bugs or anything you can just contact the admin through Reddit, they are quite responsive and friendly.
If you have questions or want to add more to the list, feel free to contact me or comment. :)

Great Ways to Get Some Bitcoins

For those that still do bitcoin faucets to get your first free satoshis or have no idea where to get those good paying ones. I have spent some time writing up an easy start report for download in PDF. Okay, yes you won't make millions of dollars here but earning millions of satoshi's a pretty good start.
http://bitcoinula.com/great-ways-free-bitcoins-download-free-reports/
I touch a bit on what is bitcoin, where to get a wallet with built in features and then point you to a guide on how to optimise earning bitcoins by telling others.
From my guide you'll realise that I'm pro btc faucets as a way to spread the word and introduce more people to crypto currencies. I try and make it easier to identify good paying faucets, to not waste your time on scams and list them in categories. I also own one and give away millions of satoshi daily.
PS. for those thinking yes, sure just another poor bastard punting his wares - I just bought my third GAWminer 42MH/s Boulder today for 1.5 btc and also own 2000+ KH/s at Scrypt.cc I also have 900+ referrals in these great paying faucets contributing earnings back into the free satoshi's daily.

Some thoughts on the economy of Bitcoin. BTC is fractional reserve and the US Gov has more control over it than you think.

I've given a lot of thought to the arguments and analysis surrounding Bitcoin and I'd like to know what you think about my take on it, and one of my concerns. Please pardon the clickbait-y title, I promise I'm not asking this to push a pro or anti-BTC agenda.
Part 1 theorizes that properties similar to "fractional reserve" are shared by most currencies including cryptocurrencies that aren't centrally managed.
Part 2 presents a question about liquidity and US government market-distortion power.
Part 1: Thoughts on the economic model of currency
So first, many of the arguments for BTC and against fiat focus on monetary ecosystem aspects that BTC and fiat actually seem to share. "Fractional banking" and "no intrinsic value/off the gold standard" are often criticisms of fiat money. As many here have already observed: Crypto and fiat both primarily derive their value based on the willingness of others to accept it in exchange. Neither carries any intrinsic utility value. USD black markets in Argentina and Venezuela (and possibly Cuba) are good examples of how governments can exercise enormous power over citizens through law, monetary supply manipulation aka money printing, official exchange rates and capital controls, but cannot prevent independent price discovery or market valuation of their currencies above their actual worth in exchange. The informal acceptance of Canadian Tire Money by Canadians and the acceptance of casino chips by Las Vegas cabbies is an example of how items other than currency (though to be fair, they are dollar-denominated and exchangeable) have organically come to be accepted as money substitutes despite lack of government decree.
As for fractional reserve and debt-based supply, those are just mechanisms - scalar multipliers - that allow a currency's admins to change the money supply. Fiat supply is controlled by board of admins. BTC has a fixed time schedule by which the supply is algorithmically controlled, but that doesn't mean its valuation in the market doesn't behave like a fiat currency.
The immediate value of the currency/stock unit is what it can buy right now. This is what most people focus on: how many dollars is cabbage corp stock worth, or how many Monopolycoins does it take to buy a cheeseburger. There's the supply: outstanding stock shares or monopolycoins issued. There's the amount of resources that the monetary supply can theoretically purchase - the market cap, or issued_monopoly_coins/cheeseburger_market_price. There's the amount of resources that the monetary supply can actually be exchanged for, or "access": the net worth of cabbage corp, or the actual number of cheeseburgers that can be made by the restaurant.
The supply of a stock or currency will always account for more resources than it is actually based on. The difference between the two, I'm told, is what controls liquidity. This is not necessarily bad. In the case of stocks it allows expected growth and investment returns to be priced in. In the case of currency, ideally it allows the amount and velocity of circulating currency to match the amount and velocity of circulating goods. Both USD and BTC share this property - can I call this ratio "fractional reserve liquidity"?
Please correct me if this theory is incorrect. I would like to postulate that the liquidity of currency and the currency price of goods reflects the amount of circulating currency, not the actual supply. Both goods and services derive demand from utility and scarcity, and scarcity refers to available units, not units in existence. That is, if 1000 units of Monopolycoin circulate in an market economy where 100 cheeseburgers are being traded (and nothing else), the cheeseburger will be 10 coins. If the circulating money supply increases to 2000 coins, the cheeseburger will soon increase to 20 coins. However, if 5000 Monopolycoins are were issued and being circulated around in some other country, cheeseburger prices will not reflect those coins until they begin to circulate among the hungry diners.
Part 2: The liquidity concern
A much better explanation of this issue is made by Stanislav here: http://www.loper-os.org/?p=1009
I have no disagreement per se withe fact that early miners, coin thieves, other large holders and possibly "Satoshi" have ownership of a large part of the Bitcoin economy.
Sure, a lot of people are jealous of those who struck it rich on Bitcoin, and a lot of people believe it's unfair for someone to obtain value without productively creating it. A sentiment I agree with, though in the case of Satoshi, I would say that Satoshi definitely deserves to gain millions from the brilliant creation of the theory and the well thought out software (things like choosing the longest chain by total difficulty and not the block height, network time based on 5 peer median excluding outliers past 70 minutes, safe mode, show a really mature product), and the early adopters who evangelized the system with things like faucets also deserve to benefit.
My concern is when you add in risky liquidity. There would be no unease if there were enough assets, meaning alpaca socks, US dollars, burgers and pizzas being transacted, that a large market action would not disrupt the Bitcoin economy. If there are 100,000 Monopolycoins minted and US $50,000 being traded around supporting a $1:1coin price, then it doesn't matter so much if 20k of those were stolen and 20k were pre-mined and hoarded by the creator, because a very healthy 50% reserve means that a 20k coin cashout won't take out too much capital. It's the fear of putting dollars, burgers, and development work into the ecosystem and having most of it sucked out by a few actors that has people screaming "ponzi".
Now, it's not Satoshi that I'm worried about - whoever Satoshi is would be smart enough to slowly and gradually sell off whatever coins they have to avoid affecting the price.
According to this article, the US FBI has the world's largest Bitcoin wallet: http://www.wired.com/wiredenterprise/2013/12/fbi_wallet/
About 1%, according to this list: http://bitcoinrichlist.com/top100
Keep in mind that while that $94 million number represents the worth of 1% of the outstanding coins, $94 million is a much higher percentage of the actual worth of the Bitcoin economy.
To disrupt Bitcoin, the U.S. government doesn't need to build supercomputers and run a 51% attack, or even try to attack it all. There's a good chance the FBI will sell the entire lot of seized coins at once, or within a short period. It's not like they care about market timing. Whether or not the Bitcoin economy is resilient to such an event depends on the amount of capital and confidence invested into the system at that time.
I wonder:
How much value (primarily foreign exchange reserves, some physical goods) is inside the Bitcoin economy? How much value (iPhones, oil exports, foreign reserves and so on) are in the U.S. Dollar economy? How do the exchangeable assets match up to the total market valuations for both currencies?
