New Service Matches Solo Bitcoin Miners With Mining Farms ...

What was the Hypocrisy behind the Russia Probe?...could it be linked to Cryptocurrencies?

(First posted on July 9th 2019 on Tumblr, which caused my account to be classified as presenting explicit material...a nice way of saying suspended)
Consider all through this article that I am expressing a personal theory...Consider that both the Special Councils Office, and Counsel Mueller himself, and the Federal Reserve may be in Breach of Federal Law to have plotted to interfere with the sound Integrity of the US Currency, a Federal Crime.
What the Mueller probe should have exposed were the political strategies from Western World Central Banks to Institutionalize Cryptocurrency and take, at least, partial control of these through some form of Banking regulations. But it did not, what it did is assist in a Bitcoin bear market and stall for time in order to give the chance at Facebook to present the Libra.
It’s no secret that Jewish persons head and control all of the Western world central banks (Recent exception appears to be Christine Lagarde, New head of the European Central Bank who appears to be partially Christian). Yet, the Bitcoin is not controlled by Jewish interests, while most Western Currencies, through the directional leadership of Jewish owned and lead financial Institutions and through central banking, are.
Now, wall street banking institutions have a taste for crypto-currencies all right, and there lies the core of the “Russia” probe motivations, according to my opinion.
Donald Trump sold a condo in NY in 2013 for 24,700 Bitcoins. Here is the story (click here, NY DailyNews). Effectively, the condo was selling only in Bitcoins, no cash offer accepted. It appears to be the first official registered real estate transaction done in Bitcoins. At the top of the Bitcoin value (19,700 USD per Bitcoins in 2017), Donald’s position was valued at close to half a billion dollars. But this could be considered pocket money, since it is estimated that the greatest holder of Bitcoins is our dear “pal” Valdimir (Putin) himself. “Experts” estimate that "Vlad’s" position in the Bitcoin is close to 500,000 units, which would have put his net worth in Bitcoins close to 10 Billions USD at the top of the Bitcoin bull rally.
Now, you may not remember well, but at the end of 2017, at the peak of the Bitcoin fever, many central Bankers expressed the “need” for virtual money, and they dispelled the fraudulent nature of virtual money explaining that: “Well, while some transaction may serve organized crime, we believe that virtual currencies may serve a useful purpose in finance…”. Even Canada’s central bank Governor, Stephen Poloz supported openly this view: "Bank staff are exploring the circumstances under which it might be appropriate for the central bank to issue its own digital currency for retail transactions.” . The thing is that they were trying to bring the focus away from the Bitcoin (which they exposed as a gambling tool and a criminal currency) and towards other Cryptocurrencies.
Now, Donald Trump is not the only Washington DC person with a big position on the Bitcoin, it is believed that most high ranking DC politicians all have important positions in this currency.
I requested from the Justice Department, and from the FBI, and even the Mueller Investigation, that all Members of Congress and the White House divulge their position in the Bitcoin…naturally, being a nobody, I never even got a acknowledgement of receipt (and they will explain it is not under their authority...yet, do you believe I would have gotten another kind of response from the White House or Congress?). Yet, my request is strongly tied to National Security. Why? Because the sound value of the US currency is central to stability of the country, a stability that a Virtual Currency supremacy could threaten. A consideration presented with "zeal" by Fed Chief Powell this past July 10 in his testimony to Congress. In fact, politically, it is the biggest threat to all Western Democracies. But when you read the precedent article, you have to know how high finance is patient and plans way ahead. While the Chief of all central banks want to show they are prudent, it is clear they are negotiating a foot in the door of Facebook, a foot they should never set. Central Bank should not get into cryptocurrencies, and that is it, because anything they will do with it, they won't be able to mitigate the illegitimate use of it.
Further, in terms of security, these Bitcoin mining farms growing all over the US are a covert operation which has nothing to do with “mining Bitcoins”.
For those not familiar with the subject, many Americans (Canadians also), especially in rural areas, and in states and provinces where electricity is cheap, create Bitcoin mining farms. What does this consist of? Well, you need to purchase a small specialized computer (Bitmains are the most popular, about 500US) which you connect to the internet, and the electric grid and you don’t have to do nothing else, it is all controlled by China (the manufacturer of Bitmains)…it supposedly searches for fractions of Bitcoins called Satochies (1/100,000,000 of a Bitcoin), a bit like a treasure hunt. The Bitmain promoters argue they are plenty of Satochies indexed everywhere on the internet which belong to no one. Bitmains pretend finding them and putting a virtual Klondike on them.
When you participate in this activity, you are part of a kind of Chinese “coop”, which registers any Satochies your device may find, put them in a pot, and then you receive a pro-rata of the total Bitcoins found every month based on your number of Bitmains devices.
The thing is, that if you do the math, this endeavor cannot be profitable, yet everybody involved explains they are making tons of money. A Bitmain costs about 500USD and costs about 500USD in electricity to run per year @12cents/Kwh. They run 24/7 all year long..
Now considering that there is a limited fixed float of Bitcoins, 26,000,000; this would mean that to be profitable, when the bitcoin was valued at 1,000 USD, and there were around 4 million estimated Bitmains, and the likes, worldwide in 2016 (2,5 millions in the USA), you would have needed to find the equivalent of 30% of the currency float lost somewhere on the internet, with no apparent owner…make me laugh.
The real job of these computers is to launder money worldwide. It is estimated that between 100 and 300 Billion dollars are laundered worldwide on a daily basis. It appears that the Bitmains and similar devices are acquiring the principal share of this market. And the money Bitmain owners receive is for laundering money.
China is believed to be the greatest trader of Bitcoins, while Russia is believe to be where the biggest amount of Bitcoins are owned…No wonder Canadian banks and the Central Bank of Canada want to get in this business, they are losing market share in Money Laundering to the Bitcoin. Canada is the world Mecca of institutionalized money laundering through its 6 big large Chartered Banks plus the Mouvement des Caisses Desjardins).

Further, the estimated 2,5 million Bitmains unit in the US could serve to hack America as a whole, starting with the electric grid.
Arrogantly, Bitcoin “experts” on Wall Street have expressed, last year, that while the Bitcoin had fallen from its highs, it was only temporary, and that they projected the Bitcoin to surge back up and reach the value of 100,000 USD per untit by the end of 2020, and 1,000,000USD by the end of 2024.
While this appears ridicule to the naive mind, Wall Street’s arrogance and power are real, and if the Jewish financial interests from Wall Street need a 1,000,000 USD Bitcoin or other virtual currency to perpetuate their financial Coup d’État on the planet, they will get it.
As you have noticed, since the Mueller report has been closed, the Bitcoins which had been on a tear, suddenly reversed course, and it has gone up 400% from its lows in a few months. Since the end of the Mueller Investigation, Trump’s estimated gain with the Bitcoin is 250 Million USD.
Interestingly, the Mueller report ending coincides with the creation of Facebook’s Libra, a direct competitor of the Bitcoin, at least this is what is hoped…hum…interesting..a fully privately owned and controlled by Jewish financial and power interest cryptocurrency. They should have called it the Ziona…
Now, a 1,000,000USD per Bitcoin value means that the float of the Bitcoin would be close to the value of Worldwide M3 Money Supply. If you control the Bitcoin, or probably its replacement, the Libra, you control the Planet’s economy…
Interestingly, while I am not an important person at all, I had published 3 paragraphs on this observation in 2017 in an article, on my wordpress blog, concerning ethics and the white house. I had also 2 paragraphs on Papadopoulos (a Jew of Greek origin), the shamed White House staffer imprisoned for lying to the FBI. Papadopoulos, as I explained in my blog, had a plan where is was trying to convince Washington DC to take a US Navy Flotilla in the Eastern Mediterranean Sea, between Cyprus and Israel, to allow Israel to take property (to loot) an underwater gas reserves which belong officially to Cyprus (International Tribunals twice determined that the reserves were 80% Cyprian, and 20% Israelite), but that Israel is trying to claim for itself. This is the open subject of white papers published by Think-tanks from Washington DC.
Well, my 3 paragraphs on the Bitcoin and 2 paragraphs on Papadopoulos were magically erased. It is funny because my Wordpress blog was not accessible anyway, because it was never indexed by Google.
So, could it be that the Mueller report was mainly a strategy to intimidate market makers for the Bitcoins, while the Wall Street Establishment and Central Bankers awaited Facebook's announcement on the Libra. Remember that every time the Libra market announcement was postponed, so was the deposed date for the Mueller report.
And effectively, the Libra, if the Central bankers get their way, will bury the Bitcoin in oblivion within 8 to 10 years...but for the worst of our Democracies. Cryptocurrencies announce the End of the Nation States.

On the other side, Cudo Miner doesn’t support ASICs. One more unpleasant thing is that the fees are based on the amount of cryptocurrency mined in the last 30 days, and they are pretty high. For example, for less than 0.005 BTC, the fee is 6.5%.

SimpleMining: the choice of GPU owners

SimpleMining is a mining OS platform supporting all modern Nvidia and AMD GPUs. Using it, you can take bulk actions on multiple devices. However, despite the above-mentioned benefits, Hashr8 also has some disadvantages. What Software to Choose?

Obviously, the final decision completely depends on your needs, but we recommend choosing a universal system that supports GPU rigs and ASICs. By doing this, you will have freedom of action. A similar recommendation can be applied to GPU rigs — if you prefer them, choose a system that works both with Nvidia and AMD cards.

I have an opinion on Nano and I'm going to spend up to $25,000 to test it. I'll post the whole thing here if anyone is interested.

First, a VERY brief crypto background of me. I've been a bitcoin person for about a decade now. I have a solar bitcoin mining operation and a fruit and veggie farm that is, oddly, integrated with my bitcoin mining operation. I have been trading crypto almost since the beginning. I write trading software for crypto. And I'm going to start a logistics software company that piggybacks off of the bitcoin blockchain. I started seriously acquiring Nano, recently, under $0.80 as a highly speculative bet.
I have been following Nano for a couple years now. I think the idea is very clever. Fast and free does kind of seem like a dream. But I don't understand the psychology or the economics behind a currency that is peer-to-peer and doesn't require mining. Maybe it'll work...maybe not...I just don't know.
If mining turns out to be the problem then I think that bitcoin will just fork to a non-mining version. Even if Nano is faster, better, more clever, etc...it wasn't the first. Bitcoin was. Satoshi did all the heavy lifting. Nano, while SUPER clever, is just a derivative copy of what Satoshi figured out. The main difference is the lack of mining and the DAG.
Anyhow, you wanna know how I'm gonna spend $25k on Nano, right? Remember how I said I own a farm? Well, my farm grows SUPER fancy produce for people with too much disposable income. We're based in Southern California. They order it from us, we pick it that day from our SUPER FANCY, state-of-the-art greenhouses out in the middle of the desert and we deliver it to your door about 8 hours later.
Most people can't afford our produce because it costs a lot to grow, it's organic, we grow in these crazy greenhouses that cost us a fortune to build. Our stuff is perfect. Anyhow, I want to test home delivery using FedEx so that I can ship anywhere in the continental US instead of our drivers delivering to Los Angeles, Orange County and San Diego.
So, since I am about to test home delivery, I thought that I could also spend some of my recent earnings on the trade I just made this evening of Nano.
Ok, I know you had to read a lot to get here. And I'm sorry for that. But, here is what I want to know: IF I TELL THE NANO COMMUNITY ABOUT MY BUSINESS, HOW MANY ACTUAL HOLDERS OF NANO WILL BUY MY FRUITS AND VEGGIES...USING NANO? ARE THERE REALLY ENOUGH HOLDERS OF NANO TO SUPPORT SOME PART OF A BUSINESS? IS NANO REALLY THAT GREAT? IS IT REALLY EASY TO USE LIKE THEY SAY? IF I OFFER YOU A HIGHER QUALITY VERSION OF SOMETHING YOU ALREADY PURCHASE OFTEN, WILL YOU ACTUALLY USE YOUR NANO TO BUY IT? OR...IS EVERYONE JUST TRADING NANO AND HOPING TO GET RICH CUZ THEY MISSED BTC WHEN IT WAS $1?
Also, you should be asking yourself, by now, how is this guy gonna spend $25k? Here's how: this produce costs me a lot to grow because it is grown in glass clean rooms in the middle of the desert, with a costly off-grid solar array and giant battery banks; we only sell to high end restaurants and people who are kinda rich; our tomatoes are $12 per pound. Our strawberries are $12 per pound. Our cilantro is $4 per head, Romaine lettuce is $4....you get the idea. It's expensive. Anyhow, I'm going to create a totally separate site for Nano ONLY customers. I'll pay the shipping fees for orders. And I'll sell the produce at the same price as a regular grocery store, instead of our extremely high prices.
We grow about 30 different things, the most common veggies you would buy at your local grocery store in the US, plus about 7 different tomatoes and 2 types of fancy strawberries.
Ok, now you think that I am just trying to use this subreddit to trick people to going to my site and then tricking you into buying stuff. I'm not. I just made a good amount from Nano nearly doubling on a bet I recently made and cashed in. I'll give all the Nano I make from this test to whomever impresses me the most on this subreddit. I'll make the whole thing public. You can watch the wallet publicly. See if anyone is buying stuff.
I kinda think that very few people are gonna use their Nano to buy something that a real currency should be used for: fruit and veggies. My fruit and veggies are way too expensive for the average family so I am going to subsidize this test (the test is to see if I can get $10-20k in Nano sales by just telling the Nano community on Reddit). I know it's not the best test, I am kinda giving my produce away at cost, I'll have to pay the FedEx overnight shipping costs myself....AND THEN I'M GONNA GIVE SOME INTERNET PERSON ALL THE PROCEEDS INSTEAD OF BUYING A JSG BOGGS PIECE OF ART (LOOK HIM UP, CRYPTO NERDS MIGHT DIG IT).
But I just made a bunch of money on FUCKING Nano of all things! I'm gonna give back up to $25k to test something. I test stuff all the time with crypto, by the way. You should read my posts over the last few years if you're bored one day.
Would anyone be interested in even following this? Do other people think Nano has a use case? Anyone got a better idea for my $25k (other than me giving it to you cuz you're lazy)?
Oh, for the record: yeah...bitcoin...duh. Everything else is just a copy. No offense intended.

The concept of finance is not new, it has been in existence since the earliest days of the exchange. Everyone has the opportunity and ability to be successful if they have the right resources, however, one of the most challenging aspects of building a business is financing it and many often struggle in their endeavour to raise the capital required.

Smart contracts do not require both parties to be present, they are automated and use real-time data to generate the result.
Ethereum brought this to reality and a few years later, others saw this opportunity and started making use of it to build DeFi apps, which would later become more preferable to CeFi.

Why pool operators creating multiple pools? Here is my take.

Folks, seeing performance of my small pool, I feel very excited about Cardano's mission as decentralized token.
But we have a hindrance, which will eventually grow big if not addressed today in my opinion.
There remains pools where operator is 1 but pools are many. This scenario is not helpful for delegators as eventually their delegation is towards 1 pool only, but How it helps pool operator ???
First and foremost, they are growing because of you making them grow. They are playing by the rules.
Second, simple logic of economics of scale. With more pools if I ended up creating hype, I control more delegation and end up earning high rewards. Keep growing bigger. Whereas delegators earn same average rewards they would staking to any other pools.
With that hype pool operator when protocol increases k to be more than 150, this operator will add more pools thus adding more strength to his brand. With simple natural instincts, when delegators see more of same ticker as option they likely to stake in one of them.
With that small pool growing smaller, and end up coming out of business , also none of new stake pool too will manage to open their shop and think of competing with these bigger pools.
Ultimately, Cardano (your cardano) becomes copy of Bitcoin mining model, where few powerful who can buy big mining farms control the chain. Thus, cardano mission as successful PoS chain will fulfill, but not as decentralized as promised. Your today's ADA will not grow and because of your natural instinct of making big the bigger will harm us all.
Stop this staking style. Give everyone same level field. My pool desire only 25-30 million to keep healthy rewards growing. Like that make all pools with that much stake strength. Stop staking to multi pools.

Why I support BSV and conspiration bonus

It's simple. You don't need a fees market for Bitcoin to be profitable for mining. Bitcoin is still in its infancy. The fee market will be great once the bitcoin's reward/block found is going to be too low. In my opinion, the only reason of the fees market so early on was to attack Bitcoin.
It was to discourage the world and to make Bitcoin obsolete vs credit cards. The threat of a split from the big blockers was not really a threat because BTC would always remain more profitable thanks to the fee market.
Another way to keep Bitcoin from scaling was with social media manipulation. You can see the result and how these people have done it on the most popular forums in the community. Thx to censorship.
So what was the real reason for not expanding the blocksize limit? Was it to sell us a false promise with LN which would be a big hit in 18 months, or was it to make Bitcoin like gold so then it's not p2p money anymore which goes against white paper? Or was it to prevent flood spam, or was it to improve the decentralization of mining because raising the blocksize limit will be hard to be profitable if you are not big enough? Satoshi already said that he see miners as a huge server farm. Or maybe it was to sabotage Bitcoin?
So because of these reasons, Amaury created the ABC software to change codes to raise the blocksize limit. He had the support from all the big blocks supporter. Finally, Bitcoin forked because Amaury and big blockers wanted a higher block size limit to make p2p money transactions faster and cheaper. The end result is that Bitcoin ABC from Amaury ended up as the loser with the chain with the least proof of work, the minority chain. Bitcoin Cash was created.
Once Bitcoin Cash was created, everything was fine until some realized that the protocol was not stable. Amaury from ABC has always acted like a dictator and he's always right, he can change the protocol code as he sees fit. On the other hand, it is thanks to people like him that Bitcoin Cash exists after all. Several ABC supporters did not like the idea of ​​a hardfork every 6 months. It was written in the sky that Bitcoin Cash would be easy to attack. It was obvious that malicious people would find it easy to attack the chain.
It is somewhat for this reason that CSW created Bitcoin Satoshi Vision. This was to ensure that the Bitcoin protocol was set in stone and also to delete the blocksize limit so that there would never be a fight over it again. Cryptocurrency staking, little brother of crypto mining

There are two conceptually different approaches to achieving consensus in a distributed network, which comes down to transaction validation in the case of a cryptocurrency blockchain. You are most certainly aware of cryptocurrency mining, which is used with cryptocurrencies based on the Proof-of-Work (PoW) consensus algorithm such as Bitcoin and Ether (so far). Here miners compete against each other with their computational resources for finding the next block on the blockchain and getting a reward.
Another approach, known as the Proof-of-Stake (PoS) consensus mechanism, is based not on the race among computational resources as is the case with PoW, but on the competition of balances, or stakes. In simple words, every holder of at least one stake, a minimally sufficient amount of crypto, can actively participate in creating blocks and thus also earn rewards under such network consensus model. This process came to be known as staking, and it can be loosely thought of as mining in the PoS environment.
With that established, let’s now see why, after so many years of what comes pretty close to oblivion, it has turned into such a big thing.

Why has staking become so popular, all of a sudden?

The renewed popularity of staking came with the explosive expansion of decentralized finance, or DeFi for short. Essentially, staking is one of the ways to tap into the booming DeFi market, allowing users to earn staking rewards on a class of digital assets that DeFi provides easy access to. Technically, it is more correct to speak of DeFi staking as a new development of an old concept that enjoys its second coming today, or new birth if you please. So what’s the point?
With old-school cryptocurrency staking, you would have to manually set up and run a validating node on a cryptocurrency network that uses a PoS consensus algo, having to keep in mind all the gory details of a specific protocol so as not to shoot yourself in the foot. This is where you should have already started to enjoy jitters if you were to take this avenu entirely on your own. Just think of it as having to run a Bitcoin mining rig for some pocket money. Put simply, DeFi staking frees you from all that hassle.
At this point, let’s recall what decentralized finance is and what it strives to achieve. In broad terms, DeFi aims at offering the same products and services available today in the traditional financial world, but in a trutless and decentralized way. From this perspective, DeFi staking reseblems conventional banking where people put their money in savings accounts to earn interest. Indeed, you could try to lend out your shekels all by yourself, with varying degrees of success, but banks make it far more convenient and secure.
The maturation of the DeFi space advanced the emergence of staking pools and Staking-as-a-Service (SaaS) providers that run nodes for PoS cryptocurrencies on your behalf, allowing you to stake your coins and receive staking rewards. Don't blindly follow a narrative, its bad for you and its bad for crypto in general

I mostly lurk around here but I see a pattern repeating over and over again here and in multiple communities so I have to post. I'm just posting this here because I appreciate the fact that this sub is a place of free speech and maybe something productive can come out from this post, while bitcoin is just fucking censorship, memes and moon/lambo posts. If you don't agree, write in the comments why, instead of downvoting. You don't have to upvote either, but when you downvote you are killing the opportunity to have discussion. If you downvote or comment that I'm wrong without providing any counterpoints you are no better than the BTC maxis you despise.
In various communities I see a narrative being used to bring people in and making them follow something without thinking for themselves. In crypto I see this mostly in BTC vs BCH tribalistic arguments:
- BTC community: "Everything that is not BTC is shitcoin." or more recently as stated by adam on twitter, "Everything that is not BTC is a ponzi scheme, even ETH.", "what is ETH supply?", and even that they are doing this for "altruistic" reasons, to "protect" the newcomers. Very convenient for them that they are protecting the newcomers by having them buy their bags
- BCH community: "BTC maxis are dumb", "just increase block size and you will have truly p2p electronic cash", "It is just that simple, there are no trade offs", "if you don't agree with me you are a BTC maxi", "BCH is satoshi's vision for p2p electronic cash"
It is not exclusive to crypto but also politics, and you see this over and over again on twitter and on reddit.
My point is, that narratives are created so people don't have to think, they just choose a narrative that is easy to follow and makes sense for them, and stick with it. And people keep repeating these narratives to bring other people in, maybe by ignorance, because they truly believe it without questioning, or maybe by self interest, because they want to shill you their bags.
Because this is BCH community, and because bitcoin is censored, so I can't post there about the problems in the BTC narrative (some of which are IMO correctly identified by BCH community), I will stick with the narrative I see in the BCH community.
The culprit of this post was firstly this post by user u/scotty321 "The BTC Paradox: “A 1 MB blocksize enables poor people to run their own node!” “Okay, then what?” “Poor people won’t be able to use the network!”". You will see many posts of this kind being made by u/Egon_1 also. Then you have also this comment in that thread by u/fuck_____________1 saying that people that want to run their own nodes are retarded and that there is no reason to want to do that. "Just trust block explorer websites". And the post and comment were highly upvoted. Really? You really think that there is no problem in having just a few nodes on the network? And that the only thing that secures the network are miners?
As stated by user u/co1nsurf3r in that thread:
While I don't think that everybody needs to run a node, a full node does publish blocks it considers valid to other nodes. This does not amount to much if you only consider a single node in the network, but many "honest" full nodes in the network will reduce the probability of a valid block being withheld from the network by a collusion of "hostile" node operators.
But surely this will not get attention here, and will be downvoted by those people that promote the narrative that there is no trade off in increasing the blocksize and the people that don't see it are retarded or are btc maxis.
The only narrative I stick to and have been for many years now is that cryptocurrency takes power from the government and gives power to the individual, so you are not restricted to your economy as you can participate in the global economy. There is also the narrative of banking the bankless, which I hope will come true, but it is not a use case we are seeing right now.
Some people would argue that removing power from gov's is a bad thing, but you can't deny the fact that gov's can't control crypto (at least we would want them not to).
But, if you really want the individuals to remain in control of their money and transact with anyone in the world, the network needs to be very resistant to any kind of attacks. How can you have p2p electronic cash if your network just has a handful couple of nodes and the chinese gov can locate them and just block communication to them? I'm not saying that this is BCH case, I'm just refuting the fact that there is no value in running your own node. If you are relying on block explorers, the gov can just block the communication to the block explorer websites. Then what? Who will you trust to get chain information? The nodes needs to be decentralized so if you take one node down, many more can appear so it is hard to censor and you don't have few points of failure.
Right now BTC is focusing on that use case of being difficult to censor. But with that comes the problem that is very expensive to transact on the network, which breaks the purpose of anyone being able to participate. Obviously I do think that is also a major problem, and lightning network is awful right now and probably still years away of being usable, if it ever will. The best solution is up for debate, but thinking that you just have to increase the blocksize and there is no trade off is just naive or misleading. BCH is doing a good thing in trying to come with a solution that is inclusive and promotes cheap and fast transactions, but also don't forget centralization is a major concern and nothing to just shrug off.
Saying that "a 1 MB blocksize enables poor people to run their own" and that because of that "Poor people won’t be able to use the network" is a misrepresentation designed to promote a narrative. Because 1MB is not to allow "poor" people to run their node, it is to facilitate as many people to run a node to promote decentralization and avoid censorship.
Also an elephant in the room that you will not see being discussed in either BTC or BCH communities is that mining pools are heavily centralized. And I'm not talking about miners being mostly in china, but also that big pools control a lot of hashing power both in BTC and BCH, and that is terrible for the purpose of crypto.
Other projects are trying to solve that. Will they be successful? I don't know, I hope so, because I don't buy into any narrative. There are many challenges and I want to see crypto succeed as a whole. As always guys, DYOR and always question if you are not blindly following a narrative. I'm sure I will be called BTC maxi but maybe some people will find value in this. Don't trust guys that are always posting silly "gocha's" against the other "tribe".

When there was only 2 nodes in the network, adding a third node increased redundancy and resiliency of the network as a whole in a significant way. When there is thousands of nodes in the network, adding yet another node only marginally increase the redundancy and resiliency of the network. So the question then becomes a matter of personal judgement of how much that added redundancy and resiliency is worth. For the absolutist, it is absolutely worth it and everyone on this planet should do their part.
What is the magical number of nodes that makes it counterproductive to add new nodes? Did he do any math? Does BCH achieve this holy grail safe number of nodes? Guess what, nobody knows at what number of nodes is starts to be marginally irrelevant to add new nodes. Even BTC today could still not have enough nodes to be safe. If you can't know for sure that you are safe, it is better to try to be safer than sorry. Thousands of nodes is still not enough, as I said, it is much cheaper to run a full node as it is to mine. If it costs millions in hash power to do a 51% attack on the block generation it means nothing if it costs less than $10k to run more nodes than there are in total in the network and cause havoc and slowing people from using the network. Or using bot farms to DDoS the 1000s of nodes in the network. Not all attacks are monetarily motivated. When you have governments with billions of dollars at their disposal and something that could threat their power they could do anything they could to stop people from using it, and the cheapest it is to do so the better
You should run a full node if you're a big business with e.g. >$100k/month in volume, or if you run a service that requires high fraud resistance and validation certainty for payments sent your way (e.g. an exchange). For most other users of Bitcoin, there's no good reason to run a full node unless you reel like it.
Shouldn't individuals benefit from fraud resistance too? Why just businesses?
Personally, I think it's a good idea to make sure that people can easily run a full node because they feel like it, and that it's desirable to keep full node resource requirements reasonable for an enthusiast/hobbyist whenever possible. This might seem to be at odds with the concept of making a worldwide digital cash system in which all transactions are validated by everybody, but after having done the math and some of the code myself, I believe that we should be able to have our cake and eat it too.

The biggest reason individuals may want to run their own node is to increase their privacy. SPV wallets rely on others (nodes or ElectronX servers) who may learn their addresses.

It's less specific than the influence on the blockchain data that mining nodes have, but it's definitely not nothing.

The real limiting factor is ISP's: Imagine a situation where one service provider defrauds 4000 different nodes. Did the excessive amount of nodes help at all, when they have all been defrauded by the same service provider? If there are only 30 ISP's in the world, how many nodes do we REALLY need?
You cant defraud if the connection is encrypted. Use TOR for example, it is hard for ISP's to know what you are doing.
Satoshi specifically said in the white paper that after a certain point, number of nodes needed plateaus, meaning after a certain point, adding more nodes is actually counterintuitive, which we also demonstrated. (the latency issue). So, we have adequately demonstrated why running non-mining nodes does not add additional value or security to the network.
Again, what is the number of nodes that makes it counterproductive? Did he do any math?
There's also the matter of economically significant nodes and the role they play in consensus. Sure, nobody cares about your average joe's "full node" where he is "keeping his own ledger to keep the miners honest", as it has no significance to the economy and the miners couldn't give a damn about it. However, if say some major exchanges got together to protest a miner activated fork, they would have some protest power against that fork because many people use their service. Of course, there still needs to be miners running on said "protest fork" to keep the chain running, but miners do follow the money and if they got caught mining a fork that none of the major exchanges were trading, they could be coaxed over to said "protest fork".
In consensus, what matters about nodes is only the number, economical power of the node doesn't mean nothing, the protocol doesn't see the net worth of the individual or organization running that node.
Running a full node that is not mining and not involved is spending or receiving payments is of very little use. It helps to make sure network traffic is broadcast, and is another copy of the blockchain, but that is all (and is probably not needed in a healthy coin with many other nodes)

Bitcoin farming returns are weak at the moment - how many of you do it?

Someone let me know if I'm doing the math wrong. Based on using one GPU and not having solar power, you're barely making any money.
Expeditionary Fuel Cans = 70k on Flea at the time of writing this post.
Bitcoin = 150k on Flea
With one GPU, it will take you 20 hours of fuel to create a bitcoin. I checked my hideout and two full expeditionary fuel tanks (60/60) will last 28 hours. So after one bitcoin is made you have earned 150k in income, but it cost you (20/28) * 140,000 = 100,000 in fuel at a minimum. So profit per bitcoin is 150k - 100k = 50k roubles. I guess I should add in the remaining fuel as well. That will cost 8/28 * 140k for a profit of 8/20 * 150k = -40k + 60k or an additional 20k of profit. Total profit is 70k for two full fuel tanks.

Based on what I have not sold from my stash (I have already done a few upgrades and have some spare parts), it would cost me 2.6 million roubles to get the bitcoin farm. It would take me 52 days of harvesting a bitcoin every day just to make my initial investment back. If you hadn't already put a few hundred thousand into your hideout and had some cables lying around like I do, the return of initial investment time would be even worse. I want to do the upgrades but I just don't know if it's worth it given current prices

I'm aware that I could farm the items rather than buy them, but ultimately market price is the best way to look at this in my opinion (although that is not the point of the post).

I believe the first argument to this will be that empty fuel cans can be used for mag case crafting. So lets do the math on that as well.
Metal Cutting Scissors = 70k
Bolts x3 = 20k * 3 = 60k
Screw Nuts x3 = 13k * 3 = 39k
Total Cost = 169k
Fuel canisters should cost nothing as they are used in the bitcoin mining so, 169k in costs yields 320k in income or 320k - 169k = 149k

However, Lavatory Level 2 requires Water Collector 1, 3 Corrugated hoses, 5x screw nuts and 5x bolts. For simplicity I will combine the costs of water collector 1 and Lavatory Level 2 below.
7x Corrugated Hoses = 80k * 7 = 560k
10x bolts = 25k * 10 = 250k
10x screw nut = 130k
3x Duct Tape = 22.5k
Total Cost to construct = 962.5k

So math on combined bitcoin mining and magazine crafting trade is below
Total Costs = 962.5k + 2.6 million = 3.56 million
profit per two cans of fuel = 149k for the magazine craft + 70k for the bitcoin mine = $220k

3.56 mil / 220k cuts down the return of investment to 22 days. Sort of answered my own question there but I still think this is pretty weak given you have to log in at the same time every day to refuel / harvest bitcoins otherwise the returns get even worse.

The next XVG? Microcap 100x potential actually supported by fundamentals!

What’s up team? I have a hot one for you. XVG returned 12 million percent in 2017 and this one reminds me a lot of it. Here’s why:
Mimblewimble is like Blu-Ray compared to CD-ROM in terms of its ability to compress data on a blockchain. The current BTC chain is 277gb and its capacity is limited because every time you spend a coin, each node needs to validate its history back to when it was mined (this is how double spending is prevented). Mimblewimble is different - all transactions in a block are aggregated and netted out in one giant CoinJoin, and only the current spending needs to be verified. This means that dramatically more transactions can fit into a smaller space, increasing throughput and lowering fees while still retaining the full proof of work game theory of Bitcoin. These blockchains are small enough to run a full node on a cheap smartphone, which enhances the decentralization and censorship resistance of the network.
The biggest benefit, though, is that all transactions are private - the blockchain doesn’t reveal amounts or addresses except to the actual wallet owner. Unlike earlier decoy-based approaches that bloat the chain and can still be data mined (XMR), Mimblewimble leaves no trace in the blockchain, instead storing only the present state of coin ownership.
The first two Mimblewimble coins, Grin and Beam, launched to great fanfare in 2019, quickly reaching over $100m in market cap (since settled down to $22m and $26m respectively). Mimblewimble is just a better way to approach privacy because there is simply no data recorded in the blockchain for companies to surveil.
Privacy is not just for darknet markets, porn, money launderers and terrorists. In many countries it’s dangerous to be wealthy, and there are all kinds of problems with having your spending data be out there publicly and permanently for all to see. Namely, companies like Amazon are patenting approaches to identify people with their crypto addresses, “for law enforcement” but also so that, just like credit cards, your spending data can be used to target ads. (A) Coinbase is selling user data to the DEA, IRS, FBI, Secret Service, and who knows who else? (B) What about insurance companies raising your premiums or canceling your policy because they see you buying (legal) cannabis? If your business operates using transparent cryptocurrency, competitors can data mine your customer and supply chain data, and employees can see how much everyone else gets paid. I could go on, but the idea of “I have nothing to hide, so what do I care about privacy?” will increasingly ring hollow as people realize that this money printing will have to be paid by massive tax increases AND that those taxes will be directly debited from their “Central Bank Digital Currency” wallets.
100% privacy for all transactions also eliminates one HUGE problem that people aren’t aware of yet, but they will be: fungibility. Fungibility means that each coin is indistinguishable from any other, just like paper cash. Why is this important? Because of the ever-expanding reach of AML/KYC/KYT (Anti-Money Laundering / Know Your Customer / Know Your Transaction) as regulators cramp down on crypto and banks take over, increasingly coins become “tainted” in various ways. For example, if you withdraw coins to a mixing service like Wasabi or Samourai, you may find your account blocked. (C) The next obvious step is that if you receive coins that these chainalysis services don’t like for whatever reason, you will be completely innocent yet forced to prove that you didn’t know that the coins you bought were up to no good in a past life. 3 days ago, $100k of USDC was frozen. (D) Even smaller coins like LTC now have this problem, because “Chinese Drug Kingpins” used them. (E) I believe that censorable money that can be blocked/frozen isn’t really “your money”.
